Yeah but what about on the PS3 -what do you press, is it the same L3 that's for after burners?

-So you press it once it hovers, press it again it turns to afterburner... or no..?

I wouldn't know. The equivalent control on PS3/360 would be pulling back on the left joystick. Try that.

It's horrendous to fly in my opinion. It turns like a boat, easily smoked by the Flanker, and whenever I try to use the VTOL on ground troops it always just descends until I crash. I hate it. Though it's a blast playing Wake Island as the Russians.

Yeh i know what you mean. Flankers have an advantage over it. although i found a nice way of turning it quicker in dog fights.

That's because in real life the flanker is a better jet. The only cool thing about the JSF IS it's Vtol capabilities. In a dogfight it would get ripped to shreds against most jets. It, along with the Raptor were designed for long range stealth combat. Which is dumb in my opinion because history shows that most air combat victories are close range dogfights. Even in today's era of long range missiles and stealth.

I've spent quite a lot of time in Karkand and have not once been shot down by an F-35. They'll shoot at me, I'll outmaneuver them and take them down in a matter of seconds. Every time. Is there a trick to using them? Because you can't brake in them. I do like how when you're being chased you can throw it in VTOL for a second till they pass you and can get on their tail, but whenever I do that, they turn faster, fly faster, and get right back on me.

Theres a perfect maneuvering speed i think 310? in which it can turn better than the flanker w/o slowing down. A lot of time they'll slow down turn sharply inward then kill the flanker. Plus you can go fly over to the air strip of the opposing team then wreck all the choppers and jets b4 they can take off. I've only seen some of em on youtube and such.

Maybe one day I'll learn how to properly fly in BF3 but i like hearing the screams of those i kill.

It needs a button mapping on consoles. Its awful to try shake off people... and you can't comfortably get into hover mode. What i would ask is for indestructible post to be patched and for the huey to get more points. Sucks to fly the huey for like 8 mins and you barely get any points.

Amen on the indestructible posts (why put destructible posts in co-op but not multiplayer?), as for the huey how would they get extra points? Perhaps spawn points for people spawning in the chopper and drop points for people jumping out.

IMO planes ruin the console version. not enough people on the ground anymore.

I agree this is the first battlefield that isnt that good on console just not enough enemy,cant wait to get a pc that can run it i think bc1 was best on console allround singleplayer and multi.

It's flight envelope is horrible in the game. There are simulators for the F-35A (bf3 is the F-35B) at Luke AFB AZ (future training base of F-35A). And it does not fly anything like it does in the game. But this game isn't a simulator. I hate the lacking manuverability of the game's F-35B. Still the vectored thrust to hover helps to slow behind some people and blow them out the sky and it is fast. There should have been a separate button to switch to hover for the F35.
