They are all fun games, but I wish they wouldn't release one every year with little improvements.

ZombieAssassin4928d ago

Agreed, I'd rather just see DLC expansions for SP of course none of that MP skins crap.

rattletop4928d ago

the 1st one was a huge success despite repetition since it brought a new concept. and the 2nd was ok. after that every other game was just recycled stuff

BattleTorn4928d ago

although people will disagree with you; I'll call them new to AC.

Cause people who followed AC from the first one should remember that after the 2nd, Ubisoft made a change to their formula.

They announced that the next AC would release within the year (which would add MP); and that it wouldn't be AC3.

Ever since, AC has been a rehashed annual release; not deserving of the next numbered iteration (AC3)

TruthSeeker4928d ago

I respectfully disagee with you. I believe the second one is by far the best in the series with Brotherhood and Revelations just feeling like expansions packs.

QuodEratDemonstrandm4928d ago

It looks to me like AC1 was proof of concept. AC2 was everything 1 should have been. Brotherhood added some pretty nice features, like recruiting assassins and putting them to work, and of course the MP. Then Revelations just expanded on the stuff that was added in Brotherhood and rearranged other pieces.
Maybe the next one will have a nice mission editor. It seemed to work for Infamous 2.

i played AC1 and i couldnt finish it because it was os repetitive. it brought a new concept but i wouldnt call it succesful. AC2 on the other hand was amazing as was ACB. im playing through revelations now and its good but not as good as AC2 and ACB.

still a quality franchise, just needs bigger gameplay improvements

QuodEratDemonstrandm4928d ago

I almost totally agree. I was a little disappointed with Revelations. I like the franchise. They're all good games, but I will agree with your assessment. The only difference being that I did finish AC1.

Spenok4928d ago

As quod above me states I almost fully agree. I also finished AC1. And LOVE the franchise. Revelations is still a great game, I just think there was so little new added to the game and it came out so soon after brotherhood that it doesn't feel as good. I very much enjoy the story of the games so I am thoroughly satisfied with it. I'm actually just about the get the Platinum for it. Just need a couple sp trophies and a little online grinding and I'm golden. xD

ginsunuva4928d ago

They already killed it. Shame.

kneon4928d ago

I thought AC2 was great, Brotherhood was good but still a step down. And now with Revelations I'm too bored to get very far into it, there just seems to be no compelling reason to play it.

No. They just need to take a step back. They gave us less of a game this time around. Up until this point the games were growing and they kept adding these cool rpg elements and new abilities that added different dimensions to the games. But with this installment they stuck us in one city (for the most part) and had us working out some animus issues. There just wasn't as much game or as much story. They did have some really cool chase sequences though, and the conclusion of Ezio's story was very well done.

When will you decommission this new one? I’m only asking so I can be happier by not buying it at full price.

bunt-custardly1015d ago

The dog Chorizo from FAR CRY 6 has wheelchair legs, so is hardly a decommissioned pet. In fact very useful for digging up dirt.

Historic Eras that Video Games Need to Explore

Xfire writes "Worldbuilding is a crucial part of any story. It's not an easy task to create a believable setting with its own set of rules, customs, traditions and political affiliations and then weave a story into the said setting. Luckily, storytellers and video game writers don't always need to create complex settings when we've got history books as thick as Big Chungus.

Historical eras make a fabulous setting for video games. They've already got the world-building nailed, complete with their own set of rules, customs, traditions and political affiliations. Honestly, I don't think I need to justify the fact that historical eras make an amazing setting for video games. If you don't believe me, just go ahead and play the Ghost of Tsushima or any of the Assassin's Creed games."

The first crusade would be pretty sweet. I’d probably enjoy any of those on your list if they were done respectfully. Like not some dork in Portland making a Russian Revolution game.

Benin Empire, Far East, Central America. Games are pretty biased toward Europe, North America, and the Middle East. There is a very big world out there.

Inverno1788d ago

Or just wait til Ubisoft gives em out for free lol. they've practically given out all the AC games for free, as well as both Watch Dog games, and Rayman. Ubisoft is weird
