From Review: "The dichotomy between the amazingly low cost of very sophisticated auto racing sims and the relatively exorbitant cost of a quality force feedback steering wheel never ceases to amaze me, but even so I was somewhat taken aback by the sticker price on Thrustmaster’s new top-shelf offering, the T500RS. With a street price of over $550, a prospective buyer can be forgiven for a raised eyebrow or two. It doesn’t take a great deal of research into the build quality of the unit to understand the elements that contribute to such a lofty price, though. In fact, simply hefting the package that it comes in and feeling the weight of the wheel/pedals set will offer an obvious clue as to the high quality materials that go into the construction of the top-of-the-line model."
Announcing a Fan-Driven Review of Thrustmaster's Playstation 4 Supported Racing Hardware. Quite aware of players' inability to decide if they should buy a wheel for the console, we've decided to review Thrustmaster's products with respect to every racing game that is to arrive on the #PS4 starting with Project CARS, one at a time.
The first of these products, will be the Ferrari T300 GTE - And we require YOU to guide the review! Accepting queries till June 10th.
Presenting a new style of test drive for the staff at Inside Sim Racing. ISR looked for a car with identical stats in both Forza Motorsport 5 and Gran Turismo 6 and found the 2013 SRT Viper. Since both had brand new verions of Bathurst / Mount Panorama, that’s where ISR took the Viper. See which title stacks up and takes top honors.
For the test drive, on the PS3 ISR used a Thrustmaster T500 and on the XBox One, ISR used a Thrustmaster TX 458 Italia Racing Wheel.
Hope you enjoy it and let them know if you’d like to see some future comparisons similar to this.
VVV: "Thrustmaster's flagship T500 RS wheel, notable for being the official GT5 and being a rather sizeable beast of a peripheral, will soon be getting a brand new body in the form of a new wheel rim with fixed paddle shifters."
Sounds like a sex toy
This would be the ultimate christmas gift.
I gots me one of these. At the end of the day I'm very satisfied with it although it does have some questionable quality parts: not the meat of the unit like the motor, but more of the ventilation (this thing heats up), and some of the fasteners (like on the pedals and the steering wheel base screws). As well, if you try you can get them significantly cheaper than the MSRP. It took two hours of my time, but after some price matching phone calls with Futureshop, I was able to get one for 480 taxes in.
If you are a GT head, dive in if you have the flow.
