VGR: Ten years ago Rockstar Games took a major step forward with its Grand Theft Auto series. Being a smash hit 2D top down crime filled adventure, Rockstar Games finally made the jump into a 3D world. Gamers were able to finally experience Grand Theft Auto at the street level with Grand Theft Auto 3. Over the years the game has evolved and expanded beyond Liberty City and has become one of the most popular franchises created. GTA III rally brought the series into the spotlight and it seems quite fitting that Rockstar Games is heading back to that history making game and releasing Grand Theft Auto III: 10 Year Anniversary Edition for mobile devices.
With plenty of open world games to choose from on the PlayStation 2, narrowing down the list to just the 15 best is quite the difficult task.
Those games were pretty mid. In fact, I'm surprised they even put The Getaway: Black Monday. But they left out much better games like Way of the Samurai 1-2, Okami, Jak 2 or 3, Final Fantasy 12, Yakuza 1-2, or SSX 3.

Wow, now thats UNREAL! Why do they try to hose us with re-releases when the community can do this with UE5?! Holy crap thats absolutely insane and puts T2 to absolute SHAME!
So yes it looks good but the thing is once you start building new assets and making significant changes like what's been done here it stops being gta 3.
In the example shots roads are so narrow they are essentially one way streets.

This isn't a gta 3 remake in ue it's a fan game that uses gta 3 as inspiration if that's better or worse it's subjective.
Gta definitive wasn't great but that was more related to the ugly character models and bugs 1 was an attempt by gsg to leave a mark on the game the other was their lack of care.
Part of the charm of GTA is the semi cartoonish look it has. Making it too realistic doesn't fit the game.
Remove the main character walking and its another generic enviroment demo.
