Can Digital Games Kill The Used Game Market?

The used game market is considered by the game Development industry to be an Albatross around their neck. The only thing that can be considered worse from what I can gather is full blown piracy. For years the used game market has grown. What was once limited to pawn shops and local Mom & Pop shops is now a multi-billion dollar industry.
