Puss In Boots is a rare movie tie-in that's actually really good but is sadly let down by the length and easy difficulty. While it lasts though the game is great fun and you also get a bit of a workout while playing. Completionists will want to replay it until they gain gold medals on each stage but kids will want to play it over and over just for fun. If you're picking up a Kinect for the kids this year or already have one then this is a perfect game to keep them entertained and tire them out over the festive season. One of the best kids games of 2011.
Microsoft confirms that three Kinect titles will join the service in May, for whopping price points.
"Who would have ever guessed that Antonio Banderaz would be getting acting parts for his voice talent? What may have seemed like a sidekick character at first in the Shrek Series, mostly cause it was, the Puss in Boots character blew up in popularity. It is with little surprise that Hollywood and Dreamworks responded by giving the feisty feline his own film, and of course as with most children’s films, a movie tie in. Much like Kung-Fu Panda 2 and the Penguins of Madagascar, THQ opted to make a game centered on the Kinect’s controller free gaming, but here is the shocking part; it’s actually kind of good."
This game (except the sneaking) is really surprisingly good fun. Uses the Kinect well.
Kinectronic - "There are folks out there who would look at a game like Puss in Boots for Kinect, and write it off in a single stroke. They’d look at the subject matter – a Dreamworks animated movie – and immediately start to look down their nose at it. When they realised that Kinect isn’t just provide added functionality, but instead is used to control the entire game, they’d probably fall off their chair with laughter. That would be an ugly mistake."
