Jeff from Volatile Mode questions why any developers haven't taken advantage of what Heavy Rain accomplished. Playing out like an interactive movie, the game utilizes quick time events to create something special. It wouldn't be hard to recreate that magic.
Star Wars Eclipse will be an 'action-adventure' game and yet how Quantic Dream approaches consequence-heavy QTEs need not be abandoned recklessly.
Adam Williams has left Quantic Dream behind to form his own studio.
The departure of the lead writer likely means the story is done. The trailer for this game is amazing. Hope it comes out soon.
Quantic Dream are set to offering hands-on opportunities at PAX East 2024, but which game it will be has not yet been revealed.
Quantic Dreams has something amazing with this interactive drama genre. Indigo Prophecy was pretty amazing when it first came out, but Heavy Rain is by far one of the greatest gaming expereince I have ever played.
QTE games are weak
No thanks. I spend too much time looking at the buttons I am supposed to be pushing instead of the awesome that is happening on screen. Just give me full control or give me a cut scene.
keep my cutscenes and gameplay separate, please. QTEs aren't as interactive as developers want to make them seem. usually they're just annoyances that distract me from watching what should be a cool cutscene. of course God of War gets it right with the cool finishing kills (and they perfected it in the third game by putting the buttons on the screen relative to where they are on the controller), but i seriously don't want more games coming out like Heavy Rain where the gameplay consists of contextual QTEs.
Heavy Rain is one of the best games this gen, can't wait for Quantic Dream's next masterpiece!
