The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim has been out for over a week now, but there are games that have been out for years that I found a heck of a lot more fun.
Replaying Skyrim after 13 years is a reminder of the progress made in western RPGs over the last decade, but also what's been lost.
RPGs are often huge, sprawling endeavours. With limited playtime, we have to choose wisely, so here's the best western RPGs available today.

A new Partner Spotlight Sale is now live on the Switch eShop, including Skyrim, lowest price ever for Bomb Rush Cyberfunk, and more.
no way! Skyrim isn't his favorite game of all time? how did that happen? /s
I can name tons of games that are better
1-4 on his list look absolutly terrible, kiddy rpg games and the like. the last three did look cool tho. haven't picked up skyrim yet so i cant say if they would be more fun, but it seems to me that why would you even compare a game from 1996 to something that is a new release 13 yrs and like 4 console generations later? And honestly im not gonna go out and buy an outdated console to play these games. I have the newest console because i like the awsome graphics and more realistic AI capabilities.
you know we had cool games too after the year 1999
Oh Grim Fandango, why were you forgotten? You were one of the last truly great point n' click adventure games.
