5 Years Of The PS3, Here Are The Top 50 PS3 Games Of All Time [VID]

"With tremendous expectations on their shoulders, coming right off what is probably the best gaming console ever, five years ago, Sony released the PS3. And for the first two years of its life cycle, it was in a mess. Everybody was sure that like many others, Sony would succumb to the “third installment curse.” And for a long time, it seemed that everyone was right.
But now, the PS3 is moving from strength to strength. It has developed one of the best libraries ever in gaming history, it has a superb exclusive lineup, great online features, and the best hardware specs out of all the home consoles. But a system is only as good as its games. And the PS3 has a ton of absolutely brilliant games.
In celebration of it completing five years on the market, we have prepared a list of the 50 best games on the PS3. We have, of course, omitted several games from the list, and believe me, it was hard. There are just so many good games on the system, it was very hard to please everyone. I know precisely the feeling. Not long ago I was forking over $599 at Bestbuy so that I could get my hands on the latest PS3 and a copy of Resistance: Fall of man...aah the smell of the bluray disc and the inner booklet...brings memories! I still have this very same copy to date, on my shelf. The outer cover is not looking good, but the disc has no scratch at all.

Fastforward 5 years into the future and you've got the same thing, available at an even lower price, (lower than half the original's price!)in a smaller unit, with thousands of games at our disposal...it's been 5 good years.

Just wait, in a few moments, we'll hit 2016 and a new article will be posted up...

On a similar note, might I point out that I hate that most publishers have/are opting to get rid of these booklets that are inside the game case in favor of either just one single piece of paper or an online version.

I know that this saves money and in turn is an economical/energy saving method...........I still don't like it!

I miss the days when every brand new game I bought I would tear off the covering, (whiff), open case, (whiff), take booklet (whiff) and read the hell out of it. Then of course, take out the disc and inspect it (whiff!).

Now I'm presented with just a single piece of card :( (sometimes nothing at all). This makes me feel like I'm being cheated or something...like the package is incomplete!

That's just my opinion!

Ha! same here! bought one at launch with resistance and motorstorm! still got them was so excited when i first turned my PS3 on and it was all stylish and slick can remember thinking the graphics were amazing and now look what we have,uncharted,infamous,metal gear solid 4,demons souls,heavy rain,littlebigplanet and killzone and plenty more! it has been a great few years and some amazing new IPs. LONG.LIVE.PLAY!

Okay I'm not raggin on the PS3, it was more a facetious comment on how there's been much less games this generation across all platforms.

And there's no way you have 100 ps3 games.

That doesn't include the 8 games sitting next to my PS3. Start with the AC collector's box on the top (wide blue tin) and go down the two rows. Bottom row are my 360 games.

This also doesn't include the 30 or so games I gave to my brother-in-law, all of those games out in the PS3's first two years that I no longer wanted.

As far as why there are less games this generation, it's because of the cost to make them has increased by 10x on average. Even then, look at September-November of this year, and I'm sure you'll find that we aren't lacking for games, let alone quality games, this generation.

no LittleBigPlanet 2, no Yakuza 3/4, no Flower. These are glaring omissions here people. How can you not have LBP2 anywhere on that list, yet include New Vegas in the top 10. Bizzaro shiznit right there.

The FIRST thing I was looking for was Flower, if not flOw, and NEITHER of them are on there. Also no Valkyria Chronicles... not a single JRPG. No Prince of Persia. Too many top-quality games missing for personal favorites.
