Chris writes: "I wanted to love The War of the Worlds...I really did. It had so much going for it: H.G. Wells as the original author...Orson Welles' brilliant radio adaptation...Patrick Stewart's dulcet tones narrating the main character's journey through the landscape of alien invasion...a desire to create a classic platformer on the part of the developer... Patrick Stewart did a wonderful job of narrating. The story was wonderfully told. The visual appeal is undeniable. The platforming mechanics are generally good. The pace, however, is infuriatingly slow. The AI is at times incredibly imbalanced. The platforming mechanics, while working more often than not, still present issues. If you're a fan of the source material, you may very well enjoy the game more for the fact that it does the source material proud. If you're simply looking for a great platformer, there are other choices on the market that might serve you better. I wanted to love The War of the Worlds...and I ended up just liking it."
Not all achievements are created equal. While the vast majority will often be unlocked for simply completing the game and doing a few extra missions or tasks, some can prove to be devilishly hard. Either because of the sheer amount of time that needs to be invested or because of the expert skill or tremendous luck that is required for them to unlock. Here we take a look at the absolute worst offenders, the hardest achievements to grace the Xbox consoles.
Leviathyn.com | If you’ve been coming to this site for a bit, chances are you’ll have noticed I have an interesting taste in games. Something like this has its pro’s and its con’s but that’s just the burden I have to bear. The good thing about my unique style is that I can use it for the betterment of mankind. Okay, maybe not exactly, but I can use it to bring you games that you may have otherwise overlooked or just plain had no idea existed. Today, I would like to showcase a few PC games that were definitely unusual and some of my favorites.
Still play Dungeon Keeper to this day, one of the best Strategy games ever IMO :)
With all of the CODs and Battlefields, why not bring back some good ole games? I loved Populous, Magic Carpet and X-Wing vs Tie Fighter!
GameDynamo - "Occasionally, a developer will saddle their game with an achievement that is quite literally designed to be nigh impossible to gain. Maybe they're trying to artificially increase playtime. Perhaps they didn't realize it'd be so difficult. Or maybe, just maybe, they're subtly letting their fans know that they hate them.
Either way, the achievements on this list are some of the most downright sadistic I've ever seen. "
Lost planet 2 has a number 1 spot trophy but u might as well add the platinum as it will take months to get all the medals. Killzone 2 on elite is not easy either but doable if u have patience and skill. Fable 3 has an achievement that forces u to collect certain items. Problem is that u can only get a few each playthrough and it's random so u could play 25 x and not get them so u have to rely on others gifting. Sounds easy? U have to have them all at the same time. I finally found someone who trusted me to use them and return them and I had a few hours before he returned it and I got called into work. Oh well.
The Simpsons Game - PWNED! Achievement
Of course I received no gamerpoints for it, but it was sure hilarious unlocking it after dying 10 times.
