An Allowance That’s Measured in Minutes, Not Cents: "Screen Time"
In a growing number of households, "screen time" is the new currency that is highly valued by children and teenagers, and usually restricted by parents. Screen time can be used for playing computer games, watching TV or movies or, for older children, visiting social networking sites like MySpace or instant messaging with friends.
This New York Times report interview parents, children and authors of parental guides, on how the screen-time allowance system could be doled out in a variety of ways.
