Electronic Arts has said that it regrets a promotion for its latest Need for Speed game which used Page 3 porn models for a topless photo shoot.
The images appeared on Page 3.com, the official softcore porn site of UK tabloid The Sun, and featured topless models posing with a Ferrari. The Need for Speed branding and EA logo featured prominently.
Dealspwn: "f you haven't picked up one of the latest Need For Speed titles then you're in luck. Gamersgate are holding a weekend sale for four instalments in the racing series, and it's a great chance to save a few pounds whilst putting the pedal to the metal."
Hardcore Gamer: For the price of a pizza, you can get ProStreet, Shift 1, Shift 2, and Undercover.
Savings on The Walking Dead DLC, Limbo and Ghostbusters titles too. [OXM]
EA, I hate to be the breaker of bad news but your reputation was already tarnished well before the porn gig you tried to pull off. Trust me... You hit Rockbottom well before WCW Mayhem.
It would have been almost passable with a different game, but not a racing game that children play. Considering children use the web to search their favorite or most wanted games, who would want their kid looking for Pro Street info and getting a couple topless chicks on the screen?
I'll say this, at least those chicks were hotter than the CKM 360 chick, lol, but in no way appropriate no matter how you cut it. I also agree with #1, EA's reputation was blown well before this.
EA porn> EA games
i think this promotion went a bit "tits up"
I really didn't mind it, even though I will never purchased the games. It just comes with a maturity level for the game. I don't think they meaned to do harm by it, they just wanted to push off another game that is not complete and cater it to men and women 18+. But, I guess it did fail horribly if they regret it, I wonder how much more will it hurt their reputation.
