Twinfinite: Game Piracy Numbers Inflated According to New Research

As Techdirt reported today, a new study examining piracy over BitTorrent questions the accuracy of current ESA (U.S. trade association for game manufacturers) numbers on illegally torrented video games. Danish researchers concluded that an estimated 290 million games are pirated each year, a much smaller number than the ESA's claimed of 600 million.
