More Evidence of a Battlefield 3 Day One Patch?

Personally, I do care because the patch will fix many issues we had with beta. I know the beta was a 6 week old build, but DICE said that more updates made their way to the final game based on beta feedback.

Yeah but to be fair, almost every game released in recent times have had a day 1 patch. It's not really that big a deal. We know it's to be expected to make changes identified in the beta but who's surprised?

lots of games now a days get printed and packed before everything is finished
just to meat the launch day since they have to ship it too
so day-one updates usually hold the final touches that developers want to apply

The geforce lan showed that 90% of the faults had been fixed, that was one of them. This is probably going to be for what ever else is found, my hope is squads getting fixed as that was still not really resolved at the lan.

a 6week old build - there are Yr old builds that could have been used... And believe me a 6week old build would barely work.. You never get a program 90% bug free in 6 weeks or the game would have been ready a yr ago..

Of couse it will have patches, it will patches to the patches to the art work work of said patches.

Crunch mode is over. They're just doing bug fixes for a patch now.

What would've been nice was an early open beta so these glitches/bugs couldn't have made it into the final copy of the game. Day 1 patches are never good.

Hmmm.. The publicbeta was just stripped down old build to tress-test the servers, believe me, final build won't have them. Dice have already stated that.

And what's not good about Day 1 patches? Would it be better if it would come Day 14? I have never understood that statement.. I know bunch of games that could have needed day1 patches..

people still don't understand how long it takes games to get certified....it takes months + once a game is certified the disc content cannot be changed or it has to get re-certified. During this time the devs make the dlc and patches thus day one patches are born since the devs had months worth of time to work on patching the game and making dlc while it was being certified

Wow, I have no doubts that there will be a day one patch. Why are people still concerned about patching the beta problems though? Makes no sense to me. That's the whole purpose of a beta...
