Alone in the Wilderness: A Co-Op Study

Electron Gun's Analyst asks why there have been so few great co-op games lately:

"Unlike most of the time I write about something on Electron Gun, in this particular case I don’t have a good idea as to what the ultimate answer is. Competitive games are made constantly and seem to have no problem selling like hotcakes – typically offering both local and long-distance multiplayer options – so there’s no question that the industry’s aware of the fact that there’s a good deal of demand for multiplayer games. I also have no trouble thinking of well-rated, triple-A titles that included co-operative campaigns – beyond the aforementioned Gears series, Borderlands, Halo, Left 4 Dead, and Resident Evil 5 all come to mind – so what gives?"
