Staff Writer Andrew Reid reviews Deus Ex: Human Revolution. An excerpt: This is Deus Ex: Human Revolution, the third game in the Deus Ex cyberpunk series and the first game made in over eight years. Whereas the first game received outstanding reviews for its setting, story and sandbox game mechanics, it set a high benchmark that the sequel- Invisible War- failed to live up to. Whereas the first two games were created by Ion Storm, this prequel was made by Eidos Montreal, and was thus developed under a high amount of scrutiny from dedicated Deus Ex fans.
First and foremost, Human Revolution is a stealth game. Sure, you can blast through each level using direct combat, but the greatest rewards come from using finesse to sneak through each level without being detected, and by using non-lethal methods to take out enemies. The game offers a lot of interesting and clever ways to approach each level: hidden passages can bypass large groups of enemies, computers can be hacked to disable…
