New Releases for the Week of September 25th, 2011

Leave it to publishers to overcrowd an already satiated week of new releases with remasters of three beloved franchises. Yes, the Splinter Cell trilogy, Code Veronica, and Team Ico’s two exalted titles all make a reappearance this week, with each title receiving a pristine high-definition retrofitting. Between the trio of modernizations, there just may be enough substance to hold gamers over until the Metal Gear Solid’s HD collection creates pandemonium on November 8th.

I heard GS is having a midnight launch for Ico and SotC. Just not one near me.

madmad5013d ago

I wonder if these 12:00 AM launches are really profitable.

deserteaglexix5013d ago

If they weren't believe me, Gamestop wouldn't keep doing them. They aren't a charity.

Resident Evil: Code Veronica X

sharpsword5012d ago

Ico and Shadow of the Colossus Collection this week.

JohnApocalypse5012d ago

Just gonna stick with playing GOW3 this week. Might give X-Men destiny a rent

Sarcasm5012d ago

God of War 3 is an excellent game.

Even though I'm going to guess you really meant Gears of War 3.

I'm getting that next paycheck. Cant wait.

Castlevania and Resident Evil are always good

How about scraping Games with Gold and reducing both XB Live Gold and XB GamePass Ultimate by $5 per month.

I don't mind the games with gold, but in reality it has been a long time since I really cared about what came on games with gold.

John_McClane1355d ago

Getting rid of the gold paywall entirely works for me.

@John_McClane
I believe in paying for services you use. You look at the console vendors and they run a network that tracks your gamer profile, does your games saves, and provides an environment for multi-player. The servers and infrastructure to do this is expensive and has to be paid for somehow.

I like a direct payment method rather then hiding the costs behind something else. No matter what they have to find a way to make money off the investments they make. No company does stuff for free. Now with PSNow and XB GamePass I think both should just drop the free games (that aren't really free because they allocate Gold and Plus money to buy those games) I think it is time the the free games are dropped and the subscriptions drop in price as well.

I loved Aaero. I bought it on PS4 a few years ago and got hooked (some great tunes in there). I will happily double dip and try and grab a few achievements blitzing through the earlier difficulties again.

I havent played Code Veronica since the Dreamcast. I assume this is that but in HD?

Yui_Suzumiya1355d ago

Yeah, it had an HD remaster during the PS3 / 360 era

babadivad1355d ago

Damn, I just bought code name Veronica. Lol. I was eyeballing the Castlevania game due to the recent Tokyo Gameshow Sale, but I guess I’ll just get it here instead.

VersusDMC1355d ago

Nope. That would make no sense...but there is going to be a Devil May Cry and Castlevania anime crossover.

This is absolutely amazing! To this day Lost Planet is still my all time favorite online game. Love the Lost planet franchise!

ActualWhiteMan2304d ago

Glad I kept this one. Great game, very underrated.

Movefasta19932304d ago

lost planet 1 and 2 are gems imo

spicelicka2304d ago

2 is the one with 4 player co-op right? That was amazing! Being able to fight giant monsters in co-op was so awesome. It was like Monster hunter with guns.

Movefasta19932304d ago

it had an underrated pvp mode too
