“Slavery The Game” really?

First off I will start by saying I believe this is fake…at least it better be.

From thisis50.com forums I saw this trailer allegedly developed by Javelin Reds Gaming and is slated to be released in 2012 for PC, PS3, and Xbox 360. This trailer depics things like:

If this is real, it needs to be cancelled.
It's like they're trying to ruin gaming's image.
We already have enough fake news crap from Fox, we don't need anymore.

Oh, this will be good...

Its a fake. A clever one too. The trailer is very convincing.

But consoles won't release it. Had its creator just said pc only it would have been very hard to tell.

I am very impressed with the trailer though. To convince people a game this absurd is in production takes talent. Once this is circulated a bit more the person/s responsible should have no problem getting a job.

Slavery: The Game confirmed as viral ad for Dutch tv documentary

GamePron: Guess what? Slavery: The Game was indeed a bit of viral marketing! Dutch broadcaster Omroep NTR has – somewhat shamefacedly – admitted that the trailer (and accompanying website) were created as part of an advertising campaign for an upcoming documentary series. No, really.

I knew it was a documentary all along.
I mean think about it...

How else do you describe the 360 fanbase?

Damn, i was looking forward to setting up my own virtual cotton farm. That spiked bat looked pretty fun to use.

I was eyeing that whip. Though the scourge looks pretty nice too.

Exclusive: Slavery: The Game is a dutch viral

Slavery: The Game is a dutch viral that was started by www.gamekings.tv. Gamer.nl concludes this after two days of research.

Some of the findings:

- The phone number on the website ends with 1956, which is when the permanent banning of slavery came through in the US.

- The website's code contained the url www.peppered.nl, a Dutch marketing blog and website. Gamer.nl contacted the company, and an employee admitted that they indeed have been involved with Slavery, but that they're not allowed to tell in what way. The link in the source code was removed shortly after that.

- The name of the developer (that by the way has no traceable past), Javelin Reds, is an anagram for 'de slavernij', which means 'Slavery' in Dutch. 'De Slavernij' is also a documentary airing on Dutch TV this september, but the network that's airing it told Gamer.nl that they've got nothing to do with the game.

- Gamekings.tv was the first to show Slaverys trailer. The website told Gamer.nl that they'll publish more info on the game later.

We’re Betting that Slavery: The Game is an Elaborate Troll

My guess is that, 10 seconds after Microsoft and Sony are made aware that their corporate symbols are endorsing a fake slavery RTS, seen at the end of this fake trailer, this offensive piece of attention-whoring is going to be abolished from YouTube.

NOW......now we can say that they have exhausted every potential idea for a game. I would have said that yesterday too, but after watching that I really mean it.

i hope back lashing is assigned to a button with a nice click to it.

Eh, I'd rather play Plantation Tycoon: 1834

If I were MS or Sony I'd hire the guy for marketing.

Seriously, porno's have less absurd names than this. Yet they managed to convince at least a few people the game was real enough to look in to.

I personally think this trailer is a brilliant piece of work. And lets be honest, of all the attention-whoring on Youtube this is where you draw the line? People overreact so easily things like this they all logic out the window. Which I suspect is the reason for its existence in the first place. Better than some idiot diving off his roof into a kiddie pool.
