This new column will take an in-depth look at the video game characters we take to our hearts and the ones we loathe with every inch of rage. Each week we have a candid look at each character and give you profiles, nuggets of information and maybe even some unearthed secrets.
The first character to go under the microscope is a true fighting legend. Ryu is arguably the most famous character from the Street Fighter franchise. This character doesn’t need any flashy clothes or even trendy tattoos. Ryu wears a simple white Keikogi, red headband and matching gloves – but this basic image is a striking as his Dragon Punch.

Does this game support cross progression? I still have not beaten the first (I got sidetracked with lots of other games) and Id like to pick up where I left off through this version.
Ken masters dragon punch is more striking than ryu's always was,ryu was known for the flashy ,faster hadouken, ken for his arc dragon punch, and ken is just as famous, they just started focusing more on ryu,ken was second best too them
This is a great history of Ryu, a character I really enjoy playing! Goes to prove that voice acting is more important than you might think!
Ryu is a ICON
The love for Ken in this thread brings a tear to my eye.
I gotta give it to Ken, for me Ryu is the generic and thats great and all but Ken has fist that turn into FIRE! SHORYUKEN! (even his name is in the move!)
