absolute disgrace, capcom has certainly lost my interest as a long term fan of their games, unfortunately this stigma of sloppy dlc as a quick cash in does not bode well with my consumer demands.

as much as i loved the demo online i shall not be parting my cash for this title or any other capcom title in the forseeable future. its a shame really cause capcom trully do have the talents to make good games, unfortunately too much energy put into these cheap cash ins on their behalf deters me and i hope many others too therefore making it a no go for next gens business practices

BlueEye4619d ago

Your loss, OE is great. Unless you still have a working Dreamcast, PS2 or Xbox and a working copy of the game you this is the best and cheapest way to play 3rd Strike. The online match making is a bit bugged but a patch is coming soon to fix that release day hic-up.

And of course no one is forcing you to buy, costumes, colors, music or whatever.

kornbeaner4619d ago

If you have a PC you could play the game for free via GGPO.

garos824618d ago

it is my loss your right. im a big street fighter fan and have been for years now. but i have to make my stand albeit a small one, and i do hope others follow and stop this crap.
really costume colours now is a valid reason for them to charge you extra? thats ludicrous.

dangert124618d ago

the game is well worth its price....the dlc is not just don't support the dlc

jc485734619d ago (Edited 4619d ago )

Do people even give a damn about DLC color? I think DLC itself is wasted.

J86blum4619d ago

Agree, I keep playing the demo and im fine with that CAPCOM has lost touch with everything: Games, plot, fans, pricing. All of it at the same time I still hold my head in shame cause I know I will buy Revelations 3ds day one, and Resident Evil Operation Raccoon City.

But I will "NOT" touch that DMC reboot.

UltimateIdiot9114619d ago

What reboot? Last DMC game I know of is DMC4.

Wish they would make a new breath of fire game. Just recently bought bof4 on psn. Brings back good memories.

*continue to deny existence of the sad excuse of a new dmc game.*

J86blum4619d ago

I saw what you did there. -thumbs up- And Thats how I feel. A game I would like to see a follow up to is Wild Nine, I loved that game on my Playstation.

Note. As I type this the Dead Island trailer plays on my tv. Can't wait >.< me + a Frying Pan = Ultime Zombie Killing Machine.

InTheLab4619d ago

Don't mean to sound like the old gamer in the room but I remember wayyyyyy back in the day, you could unlock things like extra colors, music, and characters by simply playing the game...

And by wayyyyyy back, I mean last gen.

DragonKnight4619d ago

I'm so old, I remember things like codes. You know, like the Konami code? Codes to unlock characters, codes to unlock weapons, codes to allow you to play as the same damn fighter in Street Fighter II.

Whatever happened to codes? I miss them. They've been replaced by lame DLC you have to pay for.

How the hell can Capcom justify charging $2.99 for colors? COLORS?!! I thought colors were free for all to see? Stupid publishers.

T3MPL3TON 4619d ago (Edited 4619d ago )

seriously, all this paid dlc shit from capcom is just that, shit. The only reason the keep doing it is because people keep being dumb enough to allow it. I don't purchase game from Capcom any more. I refuse to give my money to a company that will nickle and dime me every chance they get.. not to mention.. the game is how many years old now?

I'll keep playing their games for free, until they learn to stop being assholes.

DrRobotnik4619d ago

It's CAPCOM.......nuff said.

How Street Fighter III Nearly Killed Capcom's Franchise

Oro is one of Street Fighter V's most anticipated fighters, a far cry from when Street Fighter III nearly derailed Capcom's fighting series for good.

3rd strike on dreamcast is my fav street fighter

DarXyde984d ago

Mainline games, I agree it was great (though, for obvious reasons, II's music is more nostalgic and popular). My favorite Street Fighter OST was Street Fighter Alpha III's.

SFIII itself was good, but for me, it wasn't until Second Impact and Third Strike that we saw such an evolution from the last numbered entry.

darthv72985d ago

And here I thought it had something to do with the many variations of IV.

Teflon02985d ago

4 had 4 versions, SFII had like 6 or 7, 3 had 3. Not much of an issue really. 5 has 3 and will probably finish on 4, though atleast it's 1 games that updates unlike 4 which was 2 separate games and the games before it being entirely separate titles

Godmars290985d ago

Though it was just the shift from arcades to home consoles.

zahdab985d ago

very much doubt it, angel of darkness didn't kill tomb raider all the sonic flops didn't kill sonic ... franchises have ups and downs

5 Reasons Street Fighter V Looks a lot Like Street Fighter III

IGN - After plenty of rumors (and one big leak), Capcom finally unveiled Street Fighter V at the PlayStation Experience last week. A gameplay trailer focused on two of Street Fighter’s classic world warriors, Ryu and Chun Li, battling it out on an ultra-detailed new stage. It didn't initially look like the short reveal gave much away, but there are details that might have gone unnoticed.

In fact, Street Fighter's future might lie in its past - Street Fighter V features several striking similarities to Street Fighter III, last seen in the late 1990s.

Im really hoping for Remy and Oro to return in SF5! Some of my fav SF3 fighters

XtraTrstrL3425d ago

Oro FTW! That was my main.

bouzebbal3424d ago

haha Oro and Remy. Two legendary characters.
i am hoping for a mix between SF3 and Alpha characters. SF3 3rd strike had too many newcomers and not many classics. i think a balance would be great in SFV.

gangsta_red3425d ago

I think it would be cool if they moved the story after part 3. It felt weird that part four took place between part 2 and 3.

Even though part 3 had more of a darkstalkers vibe with it's characters I really liked Elena, Alex and Urien. Would like to see those characters make a return.

Alex deserves a return.

GokuSolosAll3425d ago

Asura should make it this time around; imagine his crazy ultras!

Inception3425d ago

Dudley, Ibuki, Makoto, and Sean are a must for me. And maybe Q too. I enjoy using him but his a f*kin mystery. The ending also didn't gave a single clue of who / what is he. But no Gill please! :(

Also, guard parry need to appear again. I enjoy focus attack as a defensive / offensive feature in SF IV. But guard parry is more challenging to do.
