Capcom Charging $3 For Street Fighter III Additional Colors DLC

Capcom has been going to the frivolous downloadable content well quite a lot lately, but the company's newly announced expansion for Street Fighter III: Third Strike Online Edition for the Sony PlayStation 3 and Microsoft Xbox 360 goes above and beyond ridiculous. The game's first set of DLC is coming next week, and while the various incarnations of Street Fighter IV and Marvel vs Capcom 3 asked players to kick in more money for alternate costumes, Street Fighter III is offering extra color palettes for a fee.

I, like the fighting fool I am, downloaded SF3rd Strike the minute it was active and I am sorry I did. I was really hoping it would look a little better than it did. It's been forever since I played old graphics on a decent display and it looks like ass. It plays great but I just feel like I am playing a really old game and I wish I would've passed.

They can shove this DLC, along with most of their other DLC, up their ass. I don't and wont pay for costumes and I sure as shit wont pay for colors.

SFIVAE is such a half baked attempt of a game / add-on. You can't even use the 4 added cast members in trial modes to get a grasp on them.

Capcom you seriously need to take your games to the next level with advanced practice modes and more online options instead of milking your fans to death or your fans will start to thin out and look elsewhere to get their game on.

A) Blazblue has been charging for colors since the first title. This appeared in both of them, but people complain high/low that SFIV is charging for full on COSTUMES with a full range of colors.

B) Capcom stated from the start that they were expecting to make money off DLC for SFIII. This should NOT come as a surprise to anyone that they kept their word. Due to the DLC they "under priced" SFIII. Regardless of either fact no one is holding a gun to your head saying "Buy".

In the end some people need to wake the **** up and stop automatically blaming Capcom. Is their DLC logic BS? Yes. Are they that different than other companies? No. When they release a craptactual port like Blazblue CS 2 for the 3DS and charge 10 usd more then announce a new one a week later... then maybe I could understand peoples hate a bit better.

When you buy a game you expect the "Full" product, DLC is additional complimentary content. Capcom have continually played very close to the bone with its DLC and lets not forget they had unlock keys for certain titles. I bet in a lot of Western Countries this would be deemed illegal and just hasn't been tried yet. The problem is Capcom have some genuine franchises people love, Street Fighter being the main one but they are destroying their own brand by ripping off customers with sub-par DLC which could be deemed 'gouging' and MS and Sony should take note as they are the ones allowing this to happen on their systems. I CHOOSE not to buy any Capcom games unless I get them for $10 in a bargain bin, which actually happens a lot with their tripe of late, but the only reason I do is because I don't support their unethical practices with DLC and urge people to go get an Emu with SF3 if they want it that bad. The sooner MS pull out of Japan and cater exclusively for Western Tastes the better, leave them to rot... DLC is the ponzie scheme of this generation of gaming and when it collapses, bye bye Capcom. Hopefully Disney will snap them up like they did with Marvel and actually install good ethic policies.

Inflation might be so high in Japan that they feel the need to gouge extra money from franchises but I will happily wait for alternatives to appear, mortal kombat for 1 has more than satisfied my fighter gaming needs and if I was Disney/Marvel I would be reconsidering the damage this will cause to a very loyal fan base. Lol im with you i traded in MvsC3 the following week after i bought it. I have to say though the only game im getting next from capcom is Asura's Wrath. Scamcom is only publishing that CyberConnect2 is developing it.

I got MK9 and enjoyed it so much I got the season pass. Loved every minute of it and the characters were released every two weeks making it something to get excited about. Although the season pass was 1200 points U didn't feel ripped off at all and Scarlet turned out to be my favorite character, although a little kinky with the blood scenes! Its just a shame Capcom feel they can gouge, unfortunately they get away with it when consumers buy their product!

I couldn't agree more and it segregates games like COD. If you are in a lobby with a bunch of people after a round some drop because of the map packs they have. I have been in a room with buddies that have this map pack but not that and we get split up.

DLC ruins games like that especially.

I am getting really fed up with DLC to a point when I hear the devs are announcing DLC before the game even hits retail? I am renting them instead of buying them. Play it for a couple weeks and send it back to GameFly.

Capcom/etc seems to be pushing hard on the whole dru...er dlc distribution.
first they get you hooked sampl...er avatars then then when thats not enough they offer you more prod...er characters outfits. And when they know your hooked they sell you their premi...er map packs car packs ect. Wow O_O see what I did Hahhahahaha
