All 3 scores all actually good. Of 3 EGM scores, usually one is higher, one is lower and the 3rd is close to one of them. Uncharted got triple 8.5s from all 3 reviewers :)

There have already been too many tens handed out. It waters down the process and you get stupid crap like that 11 out of 10 for mario galaxy because a 10 doesn't mean as much anymore.

I obviously haven't played uncharted or mass effect yet, but these scores are about what I expected and I'll be picking both up next week. Tens should be extremely rare and only a handful of games per gen should get scored that high. The only "ten" game I've played so far this gen has been bioshock.

Superb comment, with so many 10s handes out in recent months, perfect score has kinda lost it's meaning.

Also, I thought I was the only one who worshipped BioShock and thought it was the most next-gen game so far. I was hoping the same for AC bu haven't played it and the reviews are not generally good. But BioShock was THE game that I felt perfections, story, controls, level design, enemies, music and sound effects were all perfect.

Yea I'm a huge fan. Halo 3 is good and is the popular choice and it'll probably take most of the media's goty awards, but Bioshock is my goty hands down so far.

i got it through a torrent over the weekend, and i hate it. You are constantly taking and the facial animations from the above the mouth up are absolutely terrible. They try to hide how crappy the game looks by putting a grain screen filter on, which you can turn off. When you do it looks like sh*t. The gameplay isn't very fun either. The AI id horrendous and the shooting isn't that much fun. I was hoping for this game to be good by damn did it disappoint.

I doubt you have actually played it. And if you have you must hate all other games by Bioware or you are just a PS3 fanboy trying to downplay every great game on the 360.

I have the full game and to me giving it 9/10 is an understatement. The action is like a mix of Gears of War with 4 basic squad commands (follow, stay, move to point and attack target) which works extremely good. The thing with the dialogue is that it's so well scripted and played, and you get to interact a lot in what's being said, so it's just as fun as the fighting parts. Although it has a lot of customization options for your guns, armor etc it's all so well implemented that you just do it without a lot of thought.

I have'nt been this amazed by a video game since the first time I played Shenmue or Super Mario 64. It's just a step ahead of anything else available. If you don't believe me, try it for yourselves.

buying Mass Affect first day. Not going to touch dude raider though, its way too full of repeatness. played the demo at my friend's. not fun. it looks like a sort of animated Halo 3 in parts. but way less impressive. the trees move out of sync. the water is transparent (you can see the bottom, where as in Halo 3 its a really cool like cloudiness with no reflections. way more believable imo).

since the ps3 can't do HRD lighting, the lighting effects looks very sub par as well. too bad they didn't use two frame buffers like H3 LOL! mass affect looks great though. another UE3 game to simply hint at what the 360 is capable of roflmao!!

You need to get your facts straight and stop spreading FUD just cause your a 360 fanboy. The PS3 can do HDR just fine in fact it can do fp16(16 bits per component, red, green, blue, alpha) HDR which is what Bungie basically emulated with their dual fp8(8,8,8,8) frame buffers. The 360 actually does not do native fp16. Instead how most 360 games do native HDR is through fp10(10,10,10,2)its a compromise format that doesn't have the bandwidth requirements of fp16 while still retaining some of its dynamic range but loosing range in the alpha channel. The PS3 does not support FP10. The games your comparing Halo3 and Uncharted have totally different art directions. You apparently like the blooming effect. It's not superior, its not even that realistic, but it does look flashy.

i know i will get alot of disagrees for this, but i am playing Mass Effect now, it is boring to me even when i like RPGs, the game is quite choppy - framerate problems, but the game will probably get 10/10 anyways because of the MS hypetrain... i can already see the "there are no framerate slowdowns!!" in the reviews :D but you got to see for yourself...

I think it was in OXM or some gaming magazine, they said that reviewers are more likely to give out higher scores during the start of the console life as they will be more impressed as it seems like an improvement over last gen. However, as this gen progresses, they would be expected to become more harsher with the reviews.

Having three reviewers write a paragraph each of their take on the game with each reviewer basically recapping what the reviewer said before him while adding little to no true insight of his own experience is horrible journalism. I'll wait on some actual full reviews before making my final verdict, but having played the demo, Uncharted feels like playing a nickel store pulp novel gone modern. The Indiana Jones comparisons are growing a bit tired, but this game has certainly captured the feel of what old movies would feel like if they were told today and made interactive.

My favorite nuance in the whole presentation is just how imperfect Nathan is portrayed. He's somewhat unsure of himself and startles fairly easily. It's a very fresh take on what we've come to expect from games.

And his head isn't even in widescreen.

I'll step out of my anti-number-association bubble for a moment to say this much: I'm looking forward to this game for a fun, solid experience just as I would a summer popcorn flick. And I'd never give a movie that doesn't have any misconceptions about its own depth too high or low of a grade. It's like the Fifth Element.

Fun. Not Deep, but a hell of a lot of fun.

The guy who was going to review Uncharted was never enthusiastic about it. Watch his preview on the 1Up show a few weeks back; everyone is excitedly asking him questions and he reacts like he's not really interested. He has this whole "meh" attitude towards it.

I'm not interested in ME, personally I don't get the game, so why not let someone who shares that opinion with me review that game? No, it wouldn't be fair would it. So why the hell do these people let these idiots review PS3 games when they're already have a negative impression of them?

He probably wanted to give it an 8 but boosted it .05 to keep calm and not rip him apart but I see behind the BS that he sits on. Uncharted is an AAA game and nothing that we've seen suggests anything less than a 9/10. There's so much bias and arrogance in the entire reviewing system of these companies that it's becoming a joke and this, and Assassin's Creed's scores just illustrate that.

The 360 has a lot of good games that you could use to argue that the 360 is better than the PS3, but instead you use Halo 3 as an example of how great the 360 is, thus proving that you're retarted. Halo 3 has truly terrible graphics, horrific voice acting, pink weapons and vehicles, a dumb story, and grunts with little kid voices. The scores for Uncharted are exactly like I thought it would be. Didn't expect to see straight AAA like most but SOLID scores across the board. Me personally am extremely happy with scores 8 and above. Looking great, and am really excited to play it next week!

Don't know about ME yet, but I'd rather play Ratchet, Heavenly Sword, Warhawk, and Resistance instead of these any day. It's personal opinion that provides a AAA game.

I feel pitty for you though, taking enjoyment for something so small, I guess the saying is true, "Simple minds, Simple Pleasures"!

Personaly, after actually playing the demo of Uncharted, it has some of the best AI I have seen come along in a long time. I think this game should and could be a system seller, but time will tell.

Mass Effect on the other hand, the 9.0 review is pretty spot on from what I have seen fron the videos, I have downloaded all of the videos from XBL and am looking forward to getting this game as a Christmas present from my wife. (I hope she gets all my hints)

Theres plenty of action too, but see that's what defines it as an RPG, you do know what an RPG is don't you? Maybe not. One could argue that Drakes is a rip off from Gears with it's cover system. Drakes is a shooter, not an RPG. So for any pure action junkies who wants a game with no depth, then Drakes is for you.

So maybe you'd actually enjoy it, but with the pos the 360 is, i guess not.

Uncharted and Mass Effect are two completely different types of game. You can't really even compare the two side by side. You've got to compare mass effect with something like Oblivion, and uncharted with something like tomb raider. But you can't compare either game with anything right now because neither game is out yet. Settle down people.

I'm a pc whore tbh.

But i have played oblivion,stalker, and although i do like the action elements of those games, and the graphics scenery, i get bored easily.

So yes to knock the game was probably abit unfair, i'll admit.

But i still think that Some ps3 games do not get the credit they deserve.

8.5 isn't a bad score by any means, but for what is in the game, and how well it runs, without the story and how good the graphics are, it deserved higher.

What did they knock points off for, multiplayer.

Always remember this.

You can never deduct points from a game for not having multiplayer, if the game was never ever mentioned to have multiplayer in it. From the earliest stages.

On a side note, yes anyone who loves tombraider, and yes i'm one of them ppl, you will love this game.
