Game designer at Coldwood Interactive Martin Sahlin talks Move Fitness, a technically sophisticated and conceptually refreshing fitness game combining the benefits of physical exercise with the fun of pure gaming.
Push Square: "Sony’s stab at the exercise game fad Move Fitness is heading to North America this week. The title – which originally launched in Europe way back in 2011 – sees you using the PlayStation Move motion controller to pant your way through a series of rigorous work out routines. The game was developed by the same studio behind the heavily underrated The Fight: Lights Out, and has some neat sparring mechanics as a result."
Brash Games writes "nothing we’ve seen in Move Fitness will make much of am impression on you if you’ve already got a keep fit/exercise game. In fact, if you’re really set on using Move Fitness to help with exercising, you could use the disc as a Frisbee".
Impulse Gamer - When Nintendo revolutionised the realm of virtual fitness in 2008 with Wii Fit, it would take their competitors a few years to successfully catch up. Microsoft caught up first with their unique controllerless gaming system called Kinect and when the PlayStation Move was released, quite a few third-party companies jumped onto the bandwagon. Now Sony have released their first fitness title with Move Fitness that transforms your PlayStation 3 into a virtual trainer.
