Whereas games like Jet Moto (which is also available on the PS Store) had enough going on to keep the game interesting beyond downing a sixer and playing with friends, Twisted Metal 2 is a multiplayer experience first and foremost. Though it's still decent fun, much of the smaller scope of the game and the simplistic car combat just don't hold up all that well. Nostalgia, it seems, was a bit kinder to this game than we'd originally thought.
PlayStation (PS1) game prices are beginning to get a little weird. The pandemic, renewed interest from collectors, and growing scarcity have all impacted PS1 game prices. CIB and New games can cost thousands for some titles. Use this list to snag some amazing old games to play or improve your collection without spending a fortune.
Still have my original PS1 my family got at Sam’s Club back in 1999 :) it still works and I have it hooked up to a 32” Sony Wega Trinitron that supports S Video and Component 👌🏼 PS1 games in S Video POP on there 🤩
Blocky graphics, pre-rendered backgrounds, and controls that could not make sense of a 3D world were all hallmarks of games on the original PlayStation console. Here are our picks for PS1 games that actually stand the test of time.
One of the best, if not the best, generations for gaming. So many brilliant games came out during this: Parasite Eve, Resident Evil, Alundra, Xenogears, Final Fantasy VII, and I’ll be here all day naming them off.
Nowadays, nobody would take a risk on 75% of the IPs on that console. I’ll tell you this, there was no damn remasters on that system. Every game was something unique.
Parasite Eve, Dino Crisis, RE2, RE3, Legend of Dragoon, Chrono Cross, Xenogears are all my favorites. Glad to see Legacy of Kain get mentioned. FF7 does get the love and its a great game I love it but I Like FF8 more and I know many people who will also drop FF9 into this list as well. MMX4 I prefer on the Saturn myself don't know what it is but I preferred MM games on the Saturn. PS1 was my second choice when the 32bit era landed on gamers after the fall of the Saturn PS1 had the library and the developers.
A lot of these games do not hold up as well as you’d think. MGS is pretty archaic for newer gamers to grasp. It’s not as bad as RE or Silent Hill but it still plays rough. I think out of the PSOne generation, the most preserved games are 2D like SOTN, Rayman, and my favorite Oddworld games. I agree that FF Tactics is definitely a lasting format.
Vagrant Story is the only one I would go back to play. In certain ways it still hasn't been matched. The dialog and visual direction are of amazing quality and the music is absolutely superb.

Games like Ninja Gaiden and Devil May Cry pride themselves on their often intense difficulty levels, so it is only fair that less skilled players are given option of making things little easier for themselves. After all, they paid for the video games and they have the right to experience as much of them as possible.
A lot of these developers forget that videogames are supposed to be fun, I understand that gamers love a challenge but don't mock or make fun of those that like to play for fun. Me personally if a game starts to feel like a chore or job I'm done with it there are some games I think are more fun playing on higher difficulty like Resident Evil & Borderlands but other gamers might not agree, I hate playing Halo, Madden & COD on higher difficulty but I have friends who love it. So don't belittle someone just because your skill level better that theirs, have fun at the expense of the game not another individual.
I play everything on the easiest. I want a good story and good fun, not a headache.
back then you would think that this game is the $hit...but i guess it's back then...those were the good old days..
I think that its completely idiotic to rate a game that came out more than 10 years ago. why not gve the game its score that it had when the original came out? or even reprint the article written back then with a 're-release review" headline?
i think these people have a review quota and they just needed something to bring their hammer down on
