Splitkick – Operation Flashpoint:Red River Review
In 2001 I was introduced to two PC military shooters that would define, for me, what squad based tactical warfare was. Countless hours spent with Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon and Operation Flashpoint: Cold War Crisis at LAN parties instilled a desire for more refined control and realism in any succeeding tactical shooter. No longer was it OK to run into a conflict with guns blazing knowing full well you would re-spawn to join the fray again. Your contributions were important to the whole and any small decision would mean the difference between survival for you and your squad mates or going home with a tag on your toe.
