5 Reasons Why Activision Isn’t Evil

It’s fair to say that Activision isn’t exactly popular but why have they garnered so much hate from the gaming community? “Why, because they are money-grubbing, franchise-killing, baby-snatching corporate suits, sent by the devil to destroy video games!” I hear you cry. If you take a closer look, however, you will discover that Activision isn’t really that evil after all. If I was Activistion.. I'll keep producting Call Of Duty games every year! Just being honest.

who wouldn't???????? $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ $$$$$$

One reason why they are evil: cos I says so :D

I don't think you could ever call them evil. At the end of the day, they're a business, so that means it's their job to make cash. Call of Duty makes money, therefore they will keep making it until it does not or the world implodes. Whichever comes first, really.

"They make (or at least publish) good games."

That's arguable, and anyway, so do many other publishers...

"Have you seen what other companies are up to?"

Fair enough, but Activision have been doing it for longer, AND they have that annoying dick Bobby Kotick...

"Activision was the first independent video game publisher."

The Virtual Boy was the first 3D console. Look how that turned out...

"The Call of Duty Endowment is free"

Ahh, but they make you pay for DLC, which is stuff that should have been in the original game itself...

"Misrepresentation much?"

It has nothing to do with events being misrepresented or misinterpreted - Activision can be real devils - and that's a fact.

"Fair enough, but Activision have been doing it for longer" You mean all of that pollution, kidnapping, and selling of carcinogenic products?

"AND they have that annoying dick Bobby Kotick" Bobby Kotick is a brilliant businessman. When he took control of the company it was on the verge of collapse, now it is one of the most successful video game publishers in the world.

"The Virtual Boy was the first 3D console. Look how that turned out..." That really doesn't address my point at all, does it?

"The Call of Duty Endowment is free" Ahh, but they make you pay for DLC, which is stuff that should have been in the original game itself..."

*Facepalm*

"It has nothing to do with events being misrepresented or misinterpreted - Activision can be real devils - and that's a fact."

You seemed to misrepresent my previous point . . .

They're a business - a business who would like to make as much money as possible.

ChaingunPope3086d ago

Agreed. They're not evil; in the business world, they're gods.
