Valve Officially Announces Counter-Strike: Global Offensive

I'm a little disappointed that a great game like Counter Strike is only getting a XBLA and PSN release for consoles.

A game like Counter Strike deserves a retail release.

What's with companies these days only releasing their games on XBLA and the PSN....most of us don't have the storage space to spare you know.

Really? I'm disappointed that cs is even getting released on consoles. I hope it doesn't effect the quality of the PC game. CS has and always will be best on PC as it needs a keyboard and mouse to really maximize it's competitive potential.

Battlefield 3 on PC has not been affected by console versions, so I can only assume that Valve, primarily a great PC studio (one of the few left) will not ruin a game which goes hand in hand with PC gaming since day 1 by making it a sloppy pc port... I hope.

I suppose Valve wants to continue with it's Digital Distribution success, hence why their releasing it on PSN Store and XBLA, imo it's a great way to get the game out there, CS:S was never really that big in terms of Gigs, about 2.2 as a first download back when it came out, and updates were always released afterwards, along with the orange box version is around 2008 I believe.

Their probably going to do the same with this game and release it as a small to average download size and release DLC and Patches afterwards ;)
