The movie was based on the popular Capcom fighter Darkstalkers, but the star – Morrigan Aensland was still flying under the radar of many US gaming and anime fans until a few years later when Capcom started putting her in spin-off franchises. Japanese import fans will recognize her voice in the games and animes as being that of the talented Japanese voice actress Yayoi Jinguji who has done all of Morrigan's voice work up until the recently released Marvel Vs Capcom 3."
