9 Most Underappreciated Games of 2011

Chances are the highlights of your gaming year so far involve the likes of Portal 2, LA Noire, Killzone 3 and Dead Space 2. They're the games we like to call 'noise makers'. But what about the games that sit quietly, not flaunting how clever, pretty or fun they are? Don't they deserve your attention? Now that things are quiet on the game release front it's the perfect time to show a little love to some of these forgotten gems. We've put together a list of nine of the best games of the year so far that you might have missed...

Believe it or not, bulletstorm was actually good. It was fun and had a decent story. I only payed 20 bucks for it, so i'd say i got my money's worth.

I have Outland and it's pretty good. If you like 2d platformers of any kind it's definitely worth a try.

Outland is epic. The gameplay and art style is top notch as far as $10 games go. It took me like 9 hours to beat and 12 hours to get all trophies. That's more gameplay than I've gotten out of some $60 titles. Buy Outland!

Those are all fantastic games; my favorite out of the bunch has to be Ghost Trick, however. I cannot recommend it enough.

Outland: plan on picking up next payday. really liked the demo.

Bulletstorm: only played the demo, and i didn't care for it.

Ghost Trick: don't own a DS

Dungeon Siege 3: played the demo. thought it would be an interesting game until i saw it was a full retail game. if it was a $15-20 dlg, i would have been more likely to pick it up.

The Witcher 2: really want this game, but i have yet to finish the first one. need to get on my ass and play through it.

Yakuza 4: never a must buy series, but i would like to play through it at some point.

Shadow Wars: no DS

I remember I played the Outland demo and thought it was ok, but that Raskulls was better. But this is the second list I've seen saying Outland is really good, I should play the trial again.
