The Top 5 PSP Games That Would Make Amazing PSN Releases

Gaming Irresponsibly writes: Thanks to the PSP Go, which eschews the hard copy concept in favor of downloadable games, most of the PSP catalog is already available on the PlayStation Network. Unfortunately, there are still a number of truly great games that haven’t made the cut for various reasons. Listed below are the best of the sadly neglected bunch that truly deserve a proper PSN release.

why are there 2 xmen games on this list?

agentxk5014d ago

Because writers are allowed to have their own opinions?

Heck, I wish they had PoPoLoCrois

buddymagoo5014d ago

Poor list. No FF:VII Crisis Core? No Jeanne d'Arc?

agentxk5014d ago

Not 100% but I think it is games that need to be brought to the PSN for the PSP

CrescentFang5014d ago

Interestingly enough there is a game that couldn't be put on PSN due to it being on 2 UMDs (I forgot if there were other reasons, but this was the main one). The first game of the Legend of Heroes Trails in the Sky series was released in the US this year and the second game is the one I'm talking about. Though only releaed in Japan, it is currently being localized by Xseed and the game is huge haha. The 2nd was on 2 UMDs (the game is gigantic none of that CGI stuff that takes up space and consider the series was ported to the PSP from the PC...). I asked a guy at Xseed if it was possible for them to put the Legend of Heroes Trails in the Sky SC (SC is for Second Chapter) on PSN, but he wasn't so sure about that and that was when Ys Seven came out in the US haha.
Though if Falcom has a problem getting the game on PSN, then I would think Xseed would too...

Pyscho_Mantis5014d ago

crisis core
MGS
Kingdom Heart BBS
FF Agito

HeavenlySnipes5014d ago

Kingdom Hearts
Crisis Core
Persona 3 (yeah its on Ps2, but I don't have my PS2 anymore -_-)
Ys Seven
PSP Socoms (they stayed true to the stealth gameplay that SOCOM 4 did not have)

Devil May Cry Games Sales Surge After Netflix Success

Sales of games in the Devil May Cry franchise have surged as a result of the new anime adaptation's success. DMC 4, DMC 5, and the DMC HD Collection have all reentered Steam's Global Top Sellers. Devil May Cry 5's player count jumped from around 2,000 concurrent players to just over 13,500 players in the span of a few days. Devil May Cry 4 and the Devil May Cry HD Collection have also seen similar sales boosts in the past week.

The success of the Devil May Cry anime adaptation—and to a lesser extent, the Onimusha TV series—serves as early proof the company's multimedia expansion strategy in action, showcasing how Capcom is leveraging its game IPs beyond consoles and into streaming platforms.

Lol, well... Better late than never, I suppose. It's a wonderful series. Devil May Cry V was truly something special (despite my small nitpick on the overuse of one particular level.) I still think it's probably the best action game ever made. Not sure if I'll check out the anime but I've been rocking with the games since the start of the series.

Deserved, DMC is peak hack and slash, and despite it's awareness, the sales numbers should be higher imo for what it does.

I really was expecting to hate this show with Nero voicing Dante and all the changes they made, but cringe forced cussing aside, I really enjoyed the hell out of it.

Lexreborn218d ago

I am guilty as of yesterday lol I bought the HD collection on Playstation and the definitive edition of DmC for 20 bucks yesterday. Granted, I already own them on PC and Physically and just wanted a convenient spot because I was planning on doing a sit down at the TV playthrough with my son.

Then I realized I could just use my Asus rog(offline mode) and Steamdeck we play our own games at the same time. And I give him tips as we play through them. I will likely do DmC on the PS4 though because that doesn't play the best on steamdeck. Otherwise we would play in my office on my ps5 pro or gaming desktop. That is to cluttered though....

Anyways, I'm super excited to go home and play DMC1 with my son tonight!

I wonder if it’ll be a Remake or simply a Remaster though. Remake suggests a complete rework and overhaul like with FF7.

Jigga6921d ago

I have read it will be a remake but only one game.

Cacabunga21d ago

Remaster is already out.
Remake will blow my mind!! I didn’t play this for a very long time and day one collector edition. One of the most memorable games from PS1

PixelOmen20d ago

FF7 is a lot more than just a remake. It's a more like a re-imagining bordering on a reboot/sequel. There are plenty of remakes that are not just remasters that don't go anywhere near that far. Examples include Demon's Souls (2020), Resident Evil (2002), Tony Hawk 1+2, etc.

jznrpg21d ago

It’s been rumored a long time now so hopefully it is soon.

GooGobbler21d ago

is 9 really the best in the series? i'm not into FF but i heard a few fans make that claim

LiViNgLeGaCY21d ago

Even though it's not my PERSONAL favorite, I would say yes, it's the best game in the series.

Shane Kim21d ago

7 & 9 for me. It's a lot more simple and charming than many other FF games, but still has layers of complexity. It also have my (and many others) favourite character in any FF, Vivi.

Snookies1221d ago

6, 7, 8, 9 & 10 are generally considered the best of the series. That was the golden age for Final Fantasy. They're all quite different from each other though. So it's impossible to really say which one is the "best" in the series. Since their tone, setting, characters, world & gameplay is always changing.

Nittdarko20d ago

You hit the nail on the head, I think the reason 6-10 are considered the best is because they all excel at something unique and stand out
6 is very much the majora's mask of the FF series, it has a massive cult following and has the best villain
7 is the face of FF and a general entry point into series and the first 3D FF, the materia system is 10/10
8 is the dark horse and the most adult and the junction system is the most complicated out of the series (my personal favourite)
9 is the most charming one and although it has dark moments its generally quite light hearted and feel good
10 critically I would say is the best one with the best single player story to any FF and the graphics leap was insane from PS1 to PS2 and whenever I recommend an JRPG I say FF10

Kakashi Hatake21d ago

Not at all, good but overrated. I have no idea why.

FinalFantasyFanatic21d ago (Edited 21d ago )

7 for me, most would say 6 or 7, but FF9 was well known for being underrated, even for it's time, I rank FF9 pretty highly, even if it's not my favourite.

Snookies12 pretty much has the right idea, you can't go wrong with the golden era of Final Fantasy.

Dudebro20d ago

9 was the last great traditional ff game.ffx was great but it was the beginning of the end.ffx paved the way for what we know as ff today.
