Bastion review: Rebuilding the world around us - Extra Guy.com

Extra Guy writes: It’s rare that a downloadable title can be considered a complete package, but that’s the kind of game that kicks off this year’s Summer of Arcade. Typical “standouts” like Limbo, for example, have a striking artstyle but end up brief and easy. Infinity Blade is beautiful, but proves to be repetitive. Bastion could have fallen victim to either of these issues with less care, but Supergiant Games carefully wove each thread of the game’s identity into a brightly colored tapestry, leaving it with a distinct lack of shortcomings. It is this year’s first truly great downloadable game.
