There's a lot that seems to be wrong with big video game publishers these days. All too often, they may end up milking a franchise until there's nothing left to milk (see: Activision), relying on publishing games in popular franchises while creativity and the innovation well dries up.
Capcom is one such company that isn't entirely innocent of these charges. However, they are beginning to move in a direction in which they are breaking free of the outdated industry procedures that have long ensured the financial survival (and creative death) of major publishers. Consider five positive things they're doing in the industry right now.
Capcom Spotlight is just around the corner: tune in to see the latest titles being shown off by the Japanese masters.
New IP, please. Used to be (in the 80s) if it was a Capcom game, you knew it was good.

One of the highlights of FanimeCon 2025 was the Capcom cosplay gathering.
Capcom has removed GFWL from PC versions of Lost Planet 1 and 2 as well as other titles on Steam alongside support for online features.
Let us see what Capcom's doing WRONG:
1: Outsourcing Devil May Cry to a Western Developer
2: Making a Resident Evil...which doesnt have horror, and again giving it to a western Developer
3: Not localising Miles Edgeworth 2
4: Not bringing a new Monster Hunter game for PS3
5: Not rebooting Dino Crisis
6: Milking Street Fighter 4 and Marvel VS Capcom 3 with DLC
am I missing anything?
there always have to be a bunch of haters on this site hating on capcom. I think some of u haters, needs to get laid.
@ Vandamme21
People hate on Capcom because of on-disc DLC, new versions of new games announced months after the original versions release and insanely stupid business decisions (DMC).
They may have a forum, but they play pussy foot on it. Also, you get modded very easy. no cussing or even if a youtube video has cussing, you get modded. also, if you don't suck capcom's balls, you'll get yelled at by the fans. for example, when Megaman wasn't in MvC3, unity fans claimed he wasn't important enough and didn't belong in the game anyways.
as for Evo, thats just promotion, someone has too buy all of those incarnations of SF, they are a big chunk of sales.
"hey're releasing not one, not two, and not even three or four, but five Resident Evil games, that's what. That's right, Capcom is releasing 5 Resident Evil games in one year (two of which are HD remakes). "
they are milking it, and are probably going to charge $60 for each copy.
