Top 10 Video Games that Should Have Been Delayed

From the PlanetXbox360.com feature article:

"This generation of video games has seen many titles come and pass that needed extra time in development. Many factors have caused titles being rushed onto store shelves, but none of them are valid enough when looking back and seeing the disappointing results for many titles that often lead to unemployment for several developers."

Must disagree on Too Human, spent so much time with that game; I'm not sure if that means it was good or not =P

Can't go up against Modern Warfare and win...

Where is Gran Turismo 5? And that's not sarcasm!

As a serious fan of the series, I must agree with you. It saddens me greatly to say it, but there is so very much wrong with a game, that took entirely to long to make.

I bought it new, and maybe finished 35% of the a-spec side. It kills me to say it but Forza 3 was a much better game. and past the "premium car models" it had better graphics in every respect.

I think if GT5 had anymore delays more people would have lost interest in it. The game had too many delays to begin with.

Even with all those delays, the creator guy forgot his name the Polophony Digital Director said he wasn't fully satisfied with the game being released at the time.

TMNT: Turtles in Time Re-Shelled didn't really need to be delay but they should of put more thought in before they put out the game.
-Like the order the bosses is in

Brink should of been delayed it needed some several fixes.

Dungeons & Dragons: Daggerdale also should of been delayed or never made, no offense d&d fans

I wouldn't mind a Too Human sequel that rights all the original game's mistakes. I also think Crackdown 1 deserves a proper sequel so that we can forget that expansion pack that is Crackdown 2

Numbers 6-9 were some of my absolute favorite early gen PS3 games. I'm still bitter about Incognito and Japan Studio.

Goodguy01393d ago

The white knight chronicles and infamous games really need to come to modern platforms. MAG I really miss...poor zipper. The ps3 was definitely a unique console despite it being the worst home console of PlayStation.

Actually great list TBH I agree with all 10

I hope one day we get some remakes for the following

The saboteur(with a proper remake and quality of life features this game could be great)
Scarface world is yours
Binary domain ( such a great game with great story)
GUN(this needs a remake)
Space marine 40k(such fun time)

Would also like to suggest adding the mercenary series even the 2nd game which is disliked by many is a fun time

I recently finished Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine and found it to be very enjoyable.

The game respected the lore and the gameplay was quite decent.

The color palette was a bit underwhelming (backdrops and setting) and recycled but I think that it deserved better.

Here's hoping for an amazing sequel

One of my favourite games.

I played all the games in the list, it is a good list but there were plenty of other overlooked gems. Several have been remastered now e.g. Catherine, Red Faction, Kingdoms of Amalur.

Some more you could add, Space Marine, Singularity, Killer is Dead, and a whole bunch of indies like Deathspank, Critter Crunch, The Last Guy.

Haze is the greatest PlayStation 3 game to ever launch, it took first person shooting to a whole new level. Just shocked it never got a remake on PlayStation 5.

darthv721088d ago

Sad that the team behind Dante inferno did not get their chance to finish the story. They had two other games planned

P_Bomb1088d ago

Did they? It’s been so long I’ve sadly forgotten most of the ending.

Venoxn4g1088d ago

A decent list, I would add Black Knight Sword, Hard Corps: uprising

Relientk771088d ago

Enslaved: Odyssey to the West
Remember Me
Folklore
Tales of Graces f
3D Dot Game Heroes
The Darkness

Venoxn4g1088d ago

..and Darkness 2 .. I personally loved it much more than first

Limitedtimestruggle1088d ago (Edited 1088d ago )

Enslaved is a terrible port on the PS3 mind you, it's a great game though. But the PS3 version is....brutally ass. I wish I opted for the 360 version when I played trough it a few years back lol.

darthv721088d ago

You still can. It plays and looks great on xbo / series.

SonyStyled1088d ago

There’s some gems in the list but as far as “should play” MAG would be in a “should’ve played” for sure

luckytrouble1088d ago (Edited 1088d ago )

Indeed. A bit hard to play a game that was entirely online with shutdown servers. A shame that it went from a game that could have been remembered for what it was, and instead is remembered as a poster child for why you should be wary of entirely online games.

MIDGETonSTILTS171088d ago (Edited 1088d ago )

I enjoyed it while it lasted, thoroughly.

I had the most kills with my knife, I’d sneak ALL game, destroying AA batteries 🔪

Too bad the industry hadn’t figured out how yet to support online games long term with additional content and MTXs.

Noxxicity1087d ago

Heck yes. MAG was one of the most satisfying fps I've ever played. Definitely miss it!
