OXM UK: "Microsoft's partnership with Crytek to develop Xbox 360 exclusive Ryse represents the "perfect marriage" of the manufacturer's Kinect strategy and the developer's creative aspirations, according to corporate vice-president Phil Spencer."
2026 will mark the 25th anniversary of Xbox, and Phil Spencer has teased it as a "really special year" for the games division.
They going to be a he best and biggest publisher on Xbox, Playstation and PC next year. They not really said anything about Switch 2 though spite claiming to be big supporters.
It will be, his net work will hit 50 million and he plans to buy a new mansion in Cape Cod. Thanks everyone! #failup
With ASUS seemingly teasing an Xbox handheld last week, there's been a lot of talk about the device in the days ever since, and Xbox boss Phil Spencer has also teased something to do with handhelds happening in 2025
I really hope this isn't a windows based device even though coming from MS that's highly unlikely. SteamDeck is much much easier to use and offers a much better user experience than any other handheld device because it's all based on steam app. The Xbox handheld should be based on that because a Windows device with a 7-8 inch screen makes it's difficult to navigate
So smart of you caveman Phil sphincter. Did you get the memo on what Nintendo is releasing this year?
I dont trust Microsoft to build an OS for this looking at the Windows phone so I think this will be just Windows with a Steam like Big Picture mode locked in the UI to launch games.
Crysis 4 is "on hold" and Crytek is facing layoffs - so what does that mean for the company that was once Germany's biggest games dev + the industry as a whole?
I really want to see a Crysis 4 with all the ray-tracing & path-tracing effects. It would be a shame if they canceled the project. Maybe they could do a kickstarter?

" Crysis is something of a tentpole game series for us at Digital Foundry, with a reputation for being an early adopter of graphics technologies that would later define entire generations of PC and console video games. That includes the likes of screen-space ambient occlusion, sub-surface scattering and ray-marched volumetric lighting, but you could write volumes about just how ground-breaking that first game was "
I really hope they come out and push the industry forward like they used to. I miss old crytek
Pretty sad that the studio that gave us a monumental game like Crysis is now subsisting on microtransactions from a live service PVPVE game.
.
I think that is how the title should read. It would appear that M$ is embracing Crytek and Crytek is returning the embrace...lol...I wonder how EA feels about this as everyone should know that EA is very up set with M$ throwing, what must be millions and millions of dollars at Actvision for exclusive timed DLC for COD and one can assume NOT EA and their MOH and Battlefield franchises.
As these 2 giants become best friends, you can't help but think that maybe a new exclusive deal is in the works for a new game for the new Xbox...maybe the Timesplitters franchise. Maybe Crytek might leave EA all together for MGS???
One thing is for sure...the industry is still smarting over the thought that M$ has given Crytek the inside track on development for the new Xbox. Epic must be concerned since they made a small fortune on the Unreal 3 360 middle-ware. Will have to keep a eye on these two.
Given how much they like simulated physics, I'd say DICE could do great things with Kinect as a full-body controller.
Im still being cautious about buying kinect games game. I mean while Ryse looks absolutely amazing and fun to play we all have to wait to see if it works since kinect feels more like a prototype of what MS really want to do with this technology. But after seeing the "origional" star wars kinect gameplay last year and then seeing it this year, i wouldn't be surprised if Crytek's footage turned out to be fake...
Oh helll no....
Oh no!
