Duke Nukem Forever originally began its life as a sidescroller instead of a shooter back in 1996, and that canceled version has just been leaked.

kinda of a misleading title.
Mod features:
Sprinting removed and faster player movement
Jump height increased
Swim speed is much faster
Player can now hold breath underwater for 45 seconds instead of 15
Weapon rebalance and screen shake when shooting removed
2/4 weapon limit completelly removed
Quicksaves (F5 by default)
Depth of Field removed and new post processing effects
Driving sections are now in first person perspective

It is pretty amazing, I remember being so hyped that they covered the Duke theme back when it happened haha. I still quite enjoyed Forever though personally.

Wow, that advanced lighting makes a huge difference to the visuals. I get that Gearbox tried to slap everything together and release a finished product. But it seems like they cut out a lot of content that would have made the experience more enjoyable. That's a shame.
Same, the AI could be pretty dumb but the bosses were fun. I thought the levels (mostly) got better later in the game too.
You know, i change my mind about this game. I still think this game is really degrading to women but i had fun playing the demo. Just turn the aiming sensitivity down to 2 and it really fun. I might actually rent this.
lets leave the whole "degradation of women" to actual 'women' (not male pretending to be female) and their respectful organizations warprincess. also you have the mentality of a mentally-handicapped 6-year-old and the behavior pattern of a juvenile troll so anything with a fart or fall entertains you
The whole 'shocked about the content' crap is stupid. I bet you all watch south park, porn etc. It's an invalid argument.
Fact it is this game doesn't pretend to be anything it isn't. It's not trying to be a Halo or Killzone killer, tater than poke fun at the fact that video games aren't as deathly serious as they're often made out to be.
It's got it's faults, yes, but if you hype the hell out of something for 15 years it's bound to provoke disappointment regardless what it is.
