New PlayStation Vita: Just Another PSP?

Sony announced the name for the new portable console that will be released in the fall of 2011 or 2012. The name is Vita, and the Sony producers ensure us that this won’t be just another PSP. New games will be designed specially for the platform, and several new features that are not available on the current PSP and not even on PS 3 will be available.

Kotaku Shuhei Yoshida, the CEO of Sony Worldwide Studios declared that the new console would bring many new improvements. “We were just too happy about the Playstation 2, and PS 3 brought only a few new features and options. We won’t make the same mistake again. PS3 was a revolution, as people were so excited about playing 3D on a console. However, the novelty disappeared after a while, and the users got back to looking at pictures. We want Vita to be challenging and demanding for the years to come, therefore we want to develop a true revolutionary console”.
