Yesterday, we looked at the PlayStation controllers that Sony has released (or in the Boomerang's case seriously intended to release) to the public. Today, we're looking at one that never made it.
That controller looks like it would be very awkward to hold...
upside down SNES controller loool thankfully we now know the legendary dual shock controller.
Actually its more like an upside down Genesis controller. http://www.amazon.com/Class...
Looks like a SNES controller mixed with a Sega Genesis controller. Good thing they didnt bring this out.
first thing I thought of when I saw the pic was my old Sega Genesis.
Ok one picture shows it with no name on it, the other shows it hook to something that looks like a computer but then the controller says Sony Playstation. Did someone Photo Edit the controller to make it say Playstation? Because that seems weird that a PC controller would say that.
Thankgod that didn't come out, but I did like the look of the boomerang. I never understood the hate for that. The only improvement I would like to see made on the current dualshock, is the left analogue stick swapping places with the d-pad.
Buy a xbox. if any changes are to be made, its fixing the l2/r2 back to DS2 quality.
Already did, and there is nothing wrong with the new triggers on the DS3.
The triggers are not that great admittedly , have you seen the terrible trigger add ons? looool Xbox trigger buttons are supreb.
"I would like to see made on the current dualshock, is the left analogue stick swapping places with the d-pad." I personally hope they never do that. I hate non symmetrical analog sticks.
Not quite sure if this is true or not as only one says playstation on it and the color is different to the other one as well as having now wire. To me it looks like a old pc with a naff joypad. I do hope Sony change the joypad next gen though as it is starting to get old and the buttons need a new layout. IMO the 360 pad is the best one at the moment and im sure sony can match that one next gen.
A few years ago, I think I saw this controller mixed with other old Playstation hardware in a box for sale. I assumed it was a third party controller or some other knock-off. I may have missed a genuine collectable item of Playstation history.
This only shows that the PlayStation was originally a Nintendo console. And this controller design is a bitter reminder of why no one messes around with Sony.
