Kimerex writes - "Stainless Games. We (The Herocast) ran into these guys at PAX East and the only thing running through my mind was how their game had me lose to a friend of mine due to the horrible game mechanics. It really is hard to get over. Killed because of horrible card management tools and a brutally limiting timer. I was re-assured by the people at the booth that the issue had been handled and that they even added the new Archenemy mode based around its card game counterpart that was released back in June 2010. So a fixed combat system and a new mode based around a side game my local nerd-out store claims is awesome, and all this for $9.99. Sounds like there is a catch.

Reviews of games within series always feel slightly polarising. There is a constant dilemma of who the target audience should be, whether they be hardened stalwarts of the genre or completely unaccustomed. Magic the Gathering: Duels of the Planeswalker 2013 (the third release in the series) is reaching that difficult stage, particularly with its money draining annual release strategy. The review is made even more divisive by the fact this game should receive entirely separate conclusions depending on whether the reader already owns a previous release. So, let's make this simple. If you own the 2012 edition of the game, released last year, then skip down to the paragraph that begins with 'but here is the problem' and perhaps shed a tear for the overt commercialism of your favourite game. Otherwise read on.
MonsterVine: "Everyone’s heard of Magic the Gathering. Classic collectible card game with monsters that’s been around since 1993. Duels of the Planeswalkers 2013 is the newest Magic game available which aims to refine the Duels series even more."
I own all the platform versions... This is my MTG fix.. I sold my physical cards years ago but this how I still dabbled in the MTG universe..
