Capcom and Ninja Theory aim to take DmC to the next level with the same Devil May Cry DNA fans love

Ninja theory failed with two games they released from gameplay aspect (Heavenly Sword sucks in gameplay)

I agree that character design is the least of their problems. But NT have not exactly tried to win over fans of DMC.

Anyway, looking at the E3 2011 trailer, it will be amazing indeed if they manage to get the gameplay to measure up to the original DMC's. They've got a long way to go.

Fans are upset at more than the fact that Ninja Theory transformed Dante into a crackhead. As someone below mentioned. Two of the big issues are with the framerate and that Ninja Theory is developing the game.

Framerate - The Unreal Engine, being used for the game, is not really designed to run above 30 FPS. The only games that run at 60 FPS are the Mortal Kombat games which are limited to 1 on 1 fighting with simple backgrounds.

Ninja Theory - They couldn't design a combat system to save their lives. The most recent trailer indicates that the combat system already has some glaring timing issues.

I was unaware of any framerate problems, i'll put that down to me being ignorant, and the combat system, i don't think it looks that bad, time will tell. I'm a fan of the series and i want this to be good no matter who develops it and how it's designed.

Let me be honest. Every game I played by N.T. looked promising and had great visuals but the gameplay always felt boring after an hour or so...

....but that is my personal opinion.

I think there wasn't a worst studio to pick for the next DMC. I would have let the professionals make the next DMC and let N.T. make something new, another mediocre title.

I am more concerned with the combat and with Ninja Theory developing the game than with the character design but why on earth do we need another protagonist with a mohawk/fauxhawk? In this generation it seems that you can bank on either the main character having a shaved head or a mohawk/fauxhawk. 'Originality' dumbasses, look it up!

Because next level it mean super saiyan. As we know Dante now don't need to turn to demon form and that stuff he right now just need to get angry and his hair turn to white color , that sound somehow he will become a saiyan and the next level is the super saiyan. Loool.

First Capcom decided to reboot the DMC franchise not Ninja Theory. Being that NT is being employed by Capcom they pretty much have to do as they are told. I believe the reason they are rebooting the franchise is because DMC4 was heavily criticized for being more of the same and not "Next Gen" (Not my words)

I dont think theres anything with a reboot and Im not a person that believes that everything will go to hell if a few things get changed. That was a pretty breif trailer that still says gameplay a work in progress. Im willing to give it a chance because I love DMC and own them all.

that doesent change anything. no matter who had the idea of "reboot" because a reboot is a reboot. DMC 4 doesent look so dated to me, and there are many fans out there that think the same, im going to give it a chance because of curiosity, i hope they manage to make the story to fit well (if its not a total reboot) because dante always had white hair since kid. anyways lookin foward to the HD COLLECTION if it comes out (fingers crossed) :)

the fan in me will buy this game, as Ninja theory will craft an excellent story driven game, but that's it. story will be great. combat will be... slow not deep, and totally void of dmc dna, if we want a balls to wall action game, welled have to look for bayonnetta even though I didn't like that too much and ninja gaiden 3.
