Gaming Mascots: Why They Are Still Important Today
That hero you control in a game has a backstory, morals and many alternative characteristics, and will respond to all possible commands at your fingertips. If he, she, or it does not have any of the above – this can generally equate to a poor game. We love a great hero, a convincing villain and a character we can relate to. We just love great characters, and our gaming experience is seemingly mediocre without them. So what’s changed over the years? Are we as committed to characters and mascots as we once were?
