Shinobi 2 Confirmed for PS Vita

Acquire Corp. this week demonstrated Shinobido 2: Tales of the Ninja for Sony Corp.’s Playstation Vita at the Electronic Entertainment Expo in Los Angeles. The stealth ninja title demonstrated use of the PS Vita rear touch panel by allowing users to control the camera with the drag of a finger. The camera function was well-developed and resembled mouse-like precision that the right analog would be unable to provide. In addition, map functionality could be accessed with the touch of the front touch screen.

OH HELLS YES!!!!!!!!!! buying vita - confirmed!

HellzAssassin3663d ago

AGREED! I was already planning on buying the PSVita... but this announcement justified my purchase even more. FUCK YES!!!

I thought its the sequel to Shinobi PS2 by Sega but this is a Tenchu style game so its welcome. Shinobi HD & Nightshade HD plus their sequels is definitely welcome!

Shinobi 3DS on the other hand, not made by the Japanese, not made by Sega, no Yuzo Koshiro Music .... no buy.

I saw Shinobido 2 in the Vita E3 video Sony has up on the PS Store, so this isn't news to me, but all the same, it's awesome that Shinobido is finally going to get some western love.

H8 to disappoint you all but this ain't "Shinobi 2" they are talking about the sequel to this

Is that a good thing or a bad thing?

Sorry, I have never played Shinobi, dont even know what kind of game it is

TenSteps3662d ago

Well that depends it had a lot of room from improvement but it was fun in its own right. It did reuse maps quite often but unlike most ninja games out there you could play stealthy.

Plus I liked the feel of the gameplay but Shinobido wasn't that popular where I'm from nor is it in the world since no talks about it so my opinion is sketchy as a source to use as best.

EDIT:

@RyuStrife

OH NOES!!! You're Right!!! Oh Well..

RyuStrife3663d ago

No this isn't Shinobi 2. The display picture used here is wrong. Shinobi is done by Sega. This, Shinobido 2, the sequel to Shinobido on PS2, not by Sega, but by Acquire Corp., the guys behind Tenchu series and Way of the Samurai Series.

NovusTerminus3663d ago

Never heard of it before this E3, and since it's by the Tenchu / Way of the Samurai guys I am getting it without a doubt!

CobraKai3663d ago

I never heard of it either. When did the original come out?

ThanatosDMC3663d ago (Edited 3663d ago )

What I was thinking. There all ready was a Shinobi 2 and it sucked compared to the first.

Shinobido was an ok game. Easier than tenchu but bigger environment and not as good.

hiredhelp3663d ago

RyuStrife
thanks for that. i am a fan of tenchu not sure how this is in comparison.

Bubs

Yea when I saw this in the vita trailer I thought it was Shinobi 2 but after watching again I found out what it really was. After researching it I'm actually pretty excited for it.

Shinobido: Way of the Ninja was made by the original Aquire after they lost the rights to Tenchu after Tenchu 2. It's pretty much a Tenchu clone but I hear it had a terrible story, terrible camera, and short repetitive missions. Released on ps2 in 2005. The sequel "Shinobido: Tales of the Ninja" was released in 2007 on psp and suffered similar problems though adding alot of new features.

I've never played them but apparently some say Shinobido is better than Tenchu. Either way I'm looking forward to the sequel on Vita. Though the first 2 got bad reviews I simply cant wait any longer for a ps3 Tenchu game and since Shinobido is quite similar I'll be getting it. Some gameplay is on youtube.

Um...misleading title is misleading.

Two totally different franchises here.
