Come on DICE! Bring On Mirror's Edge 2

GP blogger FontaineFuturistics writes, "When Mirror's Edge came out roughly three years ago, it was considered a rather fresh, if not at times flawed gaming experience. The approach was great. A first-person platforming experiencing utilizing free running and set against back drop of a futuristic utopian city run by a totalitarian regime. No one could argue against the unique approach DICE brought with the game."

Give em' a break! ........Battlefield first

jerethdagryphon5132d ago

battle field in polish phase a small team could begin work on me2

coolasj5132d ago

Battlefield in polish phase needs 100%
These games take unbelievable man hours.
And if Naughty Dog developers give any impression on the market DICE especially if they don't give their 100% they will never be satisfied.

Lylat_645132d ago

Can't see why they wont as EA Games chief Frank Gibeau said: "We're actively looking at how to bring it [Mirror's Edge] back in the right way' and "You'll see that combination, I'm sure." about Frostbite 2 and Mirrors Edge.

zackacloud5132d ago

Why COD the only game in this GEN didn't delay or cancel or develop longer lenght at all ??

coolasj5132d ago

Cause each CoD is in it's essence. Just a reskinning with new maps.

TheColbertinator5132d ago

Come on EA stop this nonsense.Announce Mirrors Edge 3 already.

coolasj5132d ago

It was annouced-ish.

"We haven't killed Mirror's Edge," continued Gibeau. We're actively looking at how to bring it back in the right way. We love that franchise. The DICE guys really created something I think special the first time around. You've got to have a big idea to be able to do the next one and that's what we're working on."

EA Cut Dead Space's Marketing Budget to Pour Into Mirror's Edge Due to Mock Review Scores

Former Visceral Games devs reveal Dead Space's marketing budget was cut in favor of Mirror's Edge because of mock review scores.

I wish EA would just release a DS2 remake. DS is my favorite horror game and DS2 is the best one in the franchise. But because DS1 failed to meet certain numbers EA scrapped the DS2 remake. SH2 remake was great rumors are Konami might be asking for another SH remake. The RE2 remake was great EA just needs to give it another try. But all they seem to do is shitty sports games that are no different from the year before. Change a few players, add different uniform colours, maybe change a team logo. Wash, rinse, repeat.

goken184d ago

Agreed. DS was great. But DS2 was even better. Would love to see a DS2 remake, though I would love to see a DS4 even more.
The problem with EA is they make easy $ from the slight changes to their sports titles like football FC games (whatever it’s called nowadays). People just lap that sh1t up.
Comparatively, games like DS which don’t sell 10s of millions, can’t sell them team player add ons and all the like, would seem a hassle to make and unappealing comparatively. Especially when you consider that most EA non sport titles haven’t actually performed well recently.

Dark Souls 2, Darksiders 2, Dead Space 2, Death Stranding 2, Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Survivor 2

chicken_in_the_corn184d ago

The Dead space remake was so good. Better than the original. Shame they won't remake 2.

__y2jb184d ago

I loved the original dead space but the remake I just found boring. Game design has moved on and the game really showed its age, just small area encounters repeated again and again.

I bought Dead Space during launch window and I never bought a Mirror's Edge game .

Inverno183d ago

Then they went on to screw both games over.

UnbreakableAlex183d ago

I'd rather see a new and great Mirrors Edge than another boring Dead Space.

Bioshock still looks fantastic, one of my all time favorites.

Yui_Suzumiya883d ago

Beyond: Two Souls on PS3 can compete with modern day graphics.

SonyStyled883d ago (Edited 883d ago )

Same as Killzone 2 and 3, uncharted 2 and 3, Infamous 2, Heavy Rain, Resistance 3

jasonismoney883d ago

I wish this was entirely true, but you might want to load up Killzone 2 and Resistance 3 again.

SonyStyled883d ago

@jason I watched some gameplay videos of KZ2 and R3 on my full screen. They are on par or succeed graphically to the first person shooters mentioned in the article that also launched on the seventh generation of consoles. Try the same and see what you think

cthulhucultist883d ago

Killzone 3 was super impressive! I could not believe the graphics back then as I was regularly pausing the game to stand in awe looking at the surroundings! Resistance however did not impress me that much. Heavy rain is also another amazing graphically speaking game. It almost felt next gen

Fist4achin883d ago

I always thought the first 3 Gears of War games looked great and still hold up for today.

SonyStyled883d ago

They did for their day. I recently played gears judgement with on the 360 and the draw distance was so blurry. The characters up close look great though

JEECE883d ago

Far Cry 2 was awesome. In addition to having demonstrably better physics and AI than later games in the series, it had a lot of design decisions that, criticized at the time, have since been praised in games like BOTW and Dark Souls.

iNcRiMiNaTi883d ago

It might not be super amazing by today's standard but I thought Mgs3 looked really good

JEECE883d ago

In terms of art style it still holds up.
