The Bitbag: Battlefield 3 Multiplayer Hands On

Today was the first day of E3 and I finally got a chance to play Battlefield 3. It was utterly amazing and I think DICE has broken the fourth wall. There isn’t a shooter on the market that can touch BF3. Not one. Not Crysis 1, not MW3, Not any incarnation of Halo, nothing. DICE is now the king of the mountain and everyone else will be playing catch up for sometime to come. October 25th needs to get here now. I hope and pray for a MP beta on PC. I know people are still going to opt for MW3 instead of BF3. That’s fine because BF3 needs TEAM PLAYERS. If it seems like I’m hyping this game, well it’s true. I’m very biased at this point and no matter how you feel, I’ll be in the promised land on October 25th, 2011.

I wish he'd have described the destructibility when he fired those rockets at the 2nd floor of the building.

That said I am also anticipating getting at least two versions of this game: PC, and one (or both) of the console versions.

I'm a call of duty Guy but i hope bf3 beats call of duty. Maybe then call of duty will try and spice things up like add dedicated servers

That’s what I’m hoping as well, I like COD and I want to see it improve but the only way Activision will improve COD is if it’s beaten in sales by another game. True COD vets know this, it’s only the stupid COD fanboys that argue that COD is still the best and doesn’t need to change, and truth is it has already changed into a more noob friendly, run and gun, frag fest, stupid killstreak mess.

Sad, really. The original CoD was an incredibly solid, respectable game. I won't lie: I do still enjoy the newer ones, even if I like BF games better. But they feel like something you'd play at a casino now: lots of random whiz-bang stuff flashing on the screen, bonus this and bonus that...CoD doesn't feel like it takes itself seriously anymore.

Thats because DICE have gone through pure sweat and tears to make this game as polished as possible.

In the time DICE had to make the Frostbite engine 2.0, Activision could easily have made a new engine of their own.

But Activion don't understand the fact that their engine is showing its age.

Don't get me wrong, MW3's graphics and gameplay look brilliant, but thats what happens when you work on the same engine for years. Imagine what Activision could have done with a new engine, a shame they didn't take the opputunity to do so.

Especially seeing as BF3 vs MW3 will be one of the biggest battles in gaming history.

Any game I can get on the WiiU im gonna get on the WiiU, even if it means waiting until next year. yeah its that big of a deal.

Battlefield 2 is Battlefield 3's predecessor. If you meant from an technical standpoint , like the engine, then BC2 is BF3 predecessor.

God, I hope it's not like BC2. I'm seeing too much stuff that just looks like it was ripped straight from BC2 and I'm not a fan of that game at all.

Please make it more like BF2 than BC2 DICE!!! Small squads, only 4 classes, no commander...all mistakes. Those all really hurt the true teamwork required for BF2.

I knew BF3 would be epic...Which is why I pre-ordered it immediately when it was announced.

MW3 will not get that privilege. Although I heard it also makes a wonderful coaster for your drinks.
