DHGF: To call Cartoon Network: Punch Time Explosion a third rate Super Smash Bros. clone, is not only an insult to Hal Labs’ fighting/platform hybrid series, but it’s also an insult to actual third rate games everywhere. The game’s bugs are plentiful, the visuals and story are subpar, it suffers from button and collision detection issues galore and somehow the game made it through play testing with Blossom being the absolute best at everything instead of a balanced roster. Factor in the lack of any real voice acting save for the same two or three lines of dialogue per character, some truly terrible platforming levels and the fact you can only engage in multiplayer via local play and you have a game that is in no way shape or form worth its $39.99 price tag.
Great news for those of you who just got a shiny new 3DSXL and are looking to expand your 3DS library. Several 3DS games have gotten price reductions/clearanced out at Best Buy and for those of you who can get to your local store to search for the titles this evening you can still take advantage of the B2G1 sales on all 3DS games. These games were all marked at a local store, did not appear to be a manager special and required no override at the register when purchasing them. That said, as is often the case for price drops like these, prices may vary depending based on different stores. These prices will likely be IN STORE ONLY.
Celebrating the successful launch of their home console beat-‘em-up title, Cartoon Network Punch Time Explosion XL, O-Games has revealed a brand new trailer for the videogame. Featuring Samurai Jack, Johnny Bravo and Ben 10 in action, amongst many other classic Cartoon Network characters, the brand new trailer is available right here at Electronic Theatre.
Samurai Jack would be overpowered, simply being too awesome for the other characters.
Wheres the all the SSBM clone hate that the ps game is getting.
Powersuit Dexter would kick everyones ass.
Cartoon Network Punch Time Explosion XL follows the rules established by Super Smash Bros. Melee to the letter. Every character shares the same command template, though their strengths, weaknesses, range and speed vary greatly. Every character has a jump extending move available after the double jump, though it’s usefulness is a measurementElectronic Theatre Image taken into account when learning that specific character. For those inclined, there’s a degree of familiarity that can only be learnt with many hours of invested play. Just like Super Smash Bros. Melee, those who give Cartoon Network Punch Time Explosion XL enough time will find an engaging, strategic fighter experience.
