Über Review: DCS: A10 Warthog

I recently mentioned to a few gaming writers that it took me three months to successfully take off in DCS: A10C Warthog, and was met with a wave of guffaws and sniggers. Their reaction was a stark reminder that us simmers are a rather strange bunch, spending our downtime doing what others would consider hard work. Approach DCS A10C with the quick-win mind of a gamer and it’ll break you in two, its myriad of avionics suites only slightly less intimidating than the Mach-5 tubes of death that the game frequently launches at you. Slide into the cockpit with the knowledge that this software demands as much training and effort as that required by a real A10C pilot though, and you’ll be rewarded with the deep satisfaction that can only be found when mastering one of today’s deadliest aircraft.
