I love the idea of a modern Elite. I really do not believe it can be delivered though. Elite was the right game at the right time and every attempt to replicate the feel of elite fell at the first hurdle. Elite (original) was amazing Elite 2 (Frontiers) was crap Elite 3 (First Encounters) was crap Chances are Elite 4 will be crap.
Much a I admire David Braben for Elite (and Virus, another good Braben game) I have little faith in this project but I really, really hope I am proved wrong.
