OXM: Has Assassin's Creed killed Splinter Cell?

OXM UK: "Back in the first few years of this shiny new millennium, Sam Fisher seemed unstoppable. Showing up with amazing technology, complex stealth, and a lovely trimmed beard - he quickly became one of the Xbox's most iconic characters; arguably reaching his pinnacle in 2005's critically acclaimed Chaos Theory."

Assassin's Creed is a very good franchise.

Let's-a go!

The story(elderly epochs with lots of conspiracy), the art(both visual and musical), the gameplay(parkour), action(the blade mechanic), free roaming world(climb anywhere, interact with every person in the game) and puzzles(really well made puzzles that made you think for a while) + new and creative multiplayer mode that can only add to an already impressive roster of features.

Yes, Assassins Creed is better than Splinter Cell. IMO Assassins Creed franchise is a very underrated series in the gaming industry. It sells great but never gets near the attention of i.e. Call of Duty, Halo, Uncharted.

I love Ubisoft for creating this franchise and continuing selling the game on a year-to-year basis. More is better, as long as the games increase in quality(which is very rare, but for this franchise it's a reality).

Can't wait for the new one, hopefully they'll include some sort of story arc that includes my people the Kurds.

Ass Creed is too repetitive. That's all I can say for it, you can enjoy it before you start repeating shi* again and again, for the next I would like difficulty modes, one were it is literally impossible to take on 10 guys by yourself.

By the end of AC1 you fought like 30 guys on your own. All you have to do it wait for someone to attack and counter it. Way to easy/

@'s the MUSIC I tell you, at about 1.08...the Music!

AT REDDEADDESTOYER no ur too repetitive

Eamon3024d ago

Yes, AC1 was repetitive and was criticised for that.

Luckily, Ubisoft completely understood this and AC2 and ACB had a huge variety of missions.

dirigiblebill3024d ago

AC doesn't have SC's co-op brilliance. If I was Ubisoft, I'd be focussing like hell on that aspect.

Kran3024d ago (Edited 3024d ago )

I kinda hope so.

Assassin's Creed is a lot better than Splinter Cell as you actually feel more immersed into the game.

Maybe it's just me because theres a guy at my college who never shuts the f**k up about this game, and when he does that about any game, I start to hate that game.

So far, he's done it with Skyrim, Fallout (although I still love Fallout... JUST), Splinter Cell and DJ Hero.

Do you know how many times he's watched the Skyrim trailer? If I told you, you'd wonder if he even has time for college.

No doubt about it assassin creed has Killed every other ubisoft title they have the only thing that can survive against assassin creed from ubisoft is Prince of persia thats if they can make it as good as the sands of time Triogly. even then Assassins creed has won

Quagmire3024d ago

I can imagine a game where Sam Fisher pops homself into an Animus, and relives one of his Assassin Ancestors.

THAT would be an awesome crossover.
