Uncharted 3's multiplayer: Does the audience have too much say?

About midway through the campaign of the 2009 game Uncharted 2: Among Thieves (UC2), the player is tasked with traversing an enemy-filled moving train as it passes through the forests of Nepal into the mountains of Tibet. If you play it, there will be moments where you’ll have to decide between shooting your attackers, diving to hang off the side of the train car you're on to avoid overpassing signs, or doing a combination of both at the same time. Soon after the beginning of the train sequence, you’ll have to make that decision under missile fire from an attacking helicopter as it indiscriminately blows the train apart...

I agree, I think ND is competent enough that they can create their own MP, rather than listen to the sometimes ridiculous, off the wall requests of gamers.

The only thing I'd ask from Naughty Dog is to remove the booster system completely to make the game more SKILL-based. In this scenario, leveling up will ONLY allow you more customization for skins and weapons.

Theres no need to copy COD and bring in perks(boosters) that will inevitably unbalance the game. Situational awareness in Uncharted 2 was a joke.

i hated the booster system stand still and see peopl behind walls...really?

ya UC2 boosters were kinda unfair. I didn't start playing MP til like a month after buying the game because i'm busy and it took me awhile to beat the SP. By that time everyone had steady aim and all kinds of stuff and I couldn't make 2 shots before I was dead. Once you get on the same level though it's definitely more enjoyable.

some people complained about it taking a who clip to kill people so they took down the health and changed how much damage the weapons did. I could kill 2 and injure a 3rd with one AK clip.

Then people complained about nades and they were made almost useless.

The most people that were ever complaining on the website were people complaining about how they liked the old version that we bought. They didnt listen then. I wanted them to make a playlist with the old version or something.

Im excited about uncharted 3 multiplayer, I hope they dont change it too much after it comes out tho.

Wow, most of you commenting suck and are EXACTLY the people this article is referring to. Let game creators make their game and either get use to how they play or find some other game that suits your taste.

I hate playing a game, getting use to HOW it plays only to have an update come in an change things.

I don't care if it's too fast, too slow, too much or too little heath to some peoples opinions. You're supposed to get used to how to play a game, it's not supposed to re-made to a select groups preference.

Games shouldn't be altered after release, the only things that should be getting patched are bugs.

hmm they removed boosters and arent copying call of duty at all , the new system is called kick backs i think look it up its quite unique and interesting

Uncharted3Goty3022d ago (Edited 3022d ago )

the way i see it is the community can Ruin or make a game better in uncharted 2 the community kept asking Naughty dog to do these and that then they released Patche after patches

for things that where not that inportant sometimes its important to listen to the community and some times just do what have to do.

"Let us turn back the clock a bit: For the weekend of Dec. 4 to Dec. 7, 2009, ND changed the amount of health players had in the multiplayer modes of UC2 (ND’s first foray into online multiplayer gaming), about two months after the release of the game.".....this ruined U2's MP for me.

Uncharted3Goty3022d ago

these is what i ment with my comment is that the community can ruin or make a game better

BeaArthur3022d ago

Honestly I don't know that community feedback is even really needed. There are so many statistics that are tracked during a beta that Naughty Dog can see exactly what is and isn't working and what needs to be adjusted.

As far as U2 goes, people starting being whinny bitches because they lacked the skill necessary to rack up kills. So what's the solution? Not to practice and get better, no, lets cry about it and have Naughty Dog change a fundamental element causing everything else to be unbalanced.
