THQ: Shorter Dev Times Reduce The Level Of Quality

While many publishers are trying to push for shorter development times in order to maximise profits, THQ has decided to give developers a lot more breathing space - something which is very evident with Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine.

I'm glad they're aware of that.

Sanrin4730d ago

Oh those THQ guys always giving us these great tips...

I wish Sony was aware of it. Killzone 3 was rushed, everyone on the KZ forums agreed, even fanboys. The game had a huge patch list to be relaesed shortly after launch and 1 month later, it was a no-show.

Also, a Socom 4 patch was also expected after release. Socom Confrontation beta (different devs) had their game completely bugged out, to the point where it wasnt showing the select screen, and this was 1 week before release.

Even in a LA Noire dev interview regarding Sony, they said devs had to fight for their release month window. I'm assuming if it gets delayed, it gets delayed 4 months for the next release window.

I wish they would tell that to their friends at Yukes. SVR every year same crap short development times. Now they are adding All Stars or Legends games to their development as well. Tell Yukes to slow down and make quality!

mephman4730d ago

There's also a case for the opposite though. Long development times don't necessary make for great games either.

So, we should expect Duke Nukem Forever to the holy grail of all things gaming. :D

Ninver4730d ago (Edited 4730d ago )

or maybe too human 2?
or mr wake perhaps? :D

morventhus4722d ago

on the account that the too human that came out was completly diffrent than the playstation and gamecube game... and the fact that they had 2 years to make the engine and get the game out... id say too human was pretty damn good... and toohuman 2 if it is in the works has been what 3 years? if that its not taking that long....

Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine came out more than a decade ago – a retrospective

Bits & Pieces asks: Releasing in 2011, there's a sequel on the horizon for Warhammer 40,0000: Space Marine. Relic’s third person hacker-shooter is older than the average Twitch chatter – how does it hold up?

Samus is on the list. Personally I'd swap the Space Marines with either Grey Fox from MGS or the COG armor from Gears of War.

You’re right. Hiding at the bottom so I missed it

REDGUM346d ago

There's no Dead Space listed in here, WTF!

Sciurus_vulgaris346d ago (Edited 346d ago )

I’d take the Space Marine power armour off the list due to it not originating in a video game.

Actually great list TBH I agree with all 10

I hope one day we get some remakes for the following

The saboteur(with a proper remake and quality of life features this game could be great)
Scarface world is yours
Binary domain ( such a great game with great story)
GUN(this needs a remake)
Space marine 40k(such fun time)

Would also like to suggest adding the mercenary series even the 2nd game which is disliked by many is a fun time

I recently finished Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine and found it to be very enjoyable.

The game respected the lore and the gameplay was quite decent.

The color palette was a bit underwhelming (backdrops and setting) and recycled but I think that it deserved better.

Here's hoping for an amazing sequel
