Wii Finally Getting Great Trivia Game - New Smarty Pants Impressions

Rob Galbreath, Editor-in-Chief at The Wiire gives some positive impressions on the upcoming Wii trivia game, Smarty Pants. "There's always been a problem with trivia games released from major television networks or larger-scale operations: the whole family can't play a game when there's only one or two people who know the answers to the questions. Cue in Smarty Pants, a wonderful trivia game designed to bring the whole family together."

Educational Video Games for kids

GamerFitNation's Brittany Figaro writes about educational video games for kids. "Video games are fun, but to have your kids learning things while playing a video game is a win-win for parents.

After looking around Toys-R-Us with one of my friends, I thought about video games that educational. She just bought her little one a DS, and one game that caught my eye was Brain Age. I’m a huge Sudoku fan, so I had fun playing that. I gave her little girl a challenge, but one that was attainable. That matters. So here are five games that are educational for your kids for DS or Wii."

20 Wii Games for $20

Green Pixels: Plunking down $50 for a brand-new game can be a gamble -- it's a lot of money to pay for something that you could end up hating. However, most games don't stay full-price for long, which is why we scoured the inventories of four major retailers (Amazon, GameStop, Target, Walmart) to find a slew of great titles that are now priced at just $20. For the cost of one freshly released game, you can buy two older titles and still have $10 left to spend on snacks. (And we all know the importance of snacks.)

There were a lot of crap games in there.

It's amazing how they keep recycling Mario and the public just keeps on eating it. Talk about staying power and it's a kids game.

PS360WII5975d ago

there have only been 8 main mario games more then some and less then others. Hardly milking

ItsDubC5975d ago

I don't think Mario Galaxy is as much for kids as it is kid-friendly. I remember being a teenager and being attracted to games that contain violence or speed but I'm now in my mid 20s and Mario Galaxy is definitely one of my favorite games right now. As a bonus, my kids would be able to play it if I had any.

okcomputer5975d ago

You must be really young to call mario a kid's game. Those of us who grew up with the series on nes and snes know how timeless/ageless the series is.

UltramanJ5974d ago

Only an immature child would write off Mario games as recycled kiddie games. I'm guessing a game has to have cursing, vulgarity, blood, and gore to be adult huh?

Tommie your crappy console is gonnabe crushed by the PS3.

MK_Red5975d ago

lol at Jenga's 2/10. I don't remember GI giving such a low score in a long time. Nintendo should really stop letting some publishers dumping their worst on Wii. Anubis 2, Balls of Fury, Those 2 games IGN reviewed yesterday and now Jenga.

ItsDubC5975d ago

Sony allowed plenty of garbage on the PS2 but look where it stands as a console.

MK_Red5975d ago

True but PS2 did not so many bad games in early it's days. Wii is hardly 1 year old and already has as many 1/10 games as PS2 had in 3-4 years.

ItsDubC5975d ago (Edited 5975d ago )

I agree that there are many horrible Wii games out there right now, and I think we can safely attribute the slew of early-on bad Wii games to devs trying to make a quick buck on the Wii craze which they had hugely underestimated along w/ the fact that the Wii introduced an unfamiliar control scheme. In addition, the PS2 did not sell as well as the Wii has in its infancy, and as a result did not attract as many developers early-on and did not have as many games in general its 1st year as the Wii has (correct me if I'm wrong).

I'm not so sure that the Wii having a lot of bad games early in its life has any significance, but we will see.

Well siad and good points. I've nothing more to add but a bubble for :)

Mario Galaxy was great. A freind of mine who owns a wii and a ps3 says he's addicted to mario galaxy. If I got a wii I'd get soul caliber legends before anything though.
